Books

"If you would tell me the heart of a man, tell me not what he reads but what he rereads."  Francois Mauriac

"Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes that day happier."  Kathleen Norris, writer

Lately, I have been entralled with Emma Stark's book, The Prophetic Warrior

Over the past few months or 2020 I have read all of Louise Penney's mystery novels.

  Any of Charles Martin's novels.

Healing Through Deliverance, The Foundation and Practice of Deliverance Ministry by Peter Horrobin

A More Excellent Way by Henry Wright

Seven Prayers That Heal the Heart by Mark Virkler

In His Own Image, and Biblical Foundations for Freedom by Art Mathias

  Healing by Francis MacNutt

The Sermon on the Mount, by Emmet Fox.  I love this book and am re-reading it for the 3rd time.

Practicing His Presence, a compilation of Frank Laubach's & Brother Lawrence's books by The Library of Spiritual Classics.

Robby Dawkins' Do What Jesus Did is a new recommendation.

Blessed Child and A Man Called Blessed, both by Bill Bright & Ted Dekker

I highly recommend, Scared, a novel about the plight of children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic in Africa

A new book to add to the list:  The Gospel in Ten Words by Paul Ellis.  It could change your life!

I have always loved Taylor Caldwell's novels.  My favorite has to be Tender Victory!

Agnes Sanford's books have been great mentors to me.

I highly recommend  The Shack  and Cross Roads by William Paul Young

I also highly recommend Randy Alcorn's novels:  Deadline, Dominion, Decision, and Safely Home

The Circle Maker by Mark Batterson  A great book on prayer!

Heaven Is For Real by Todd Burpo   An inspiring story of a little boy's visit to heaven.

I just finished a novel by Belva Plain, Her Father's House, which I enjoyed so much that I ordered a couple of others by her from abebooks.com

Hugh Halter's books, Sacrilege, and The Tangible Kingdom.

Feelings, Buried Alive Never Die... by Karol K. Truman.

The School of the Seers, by Jonathan Welton is excellent!

I finished reading Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, by Jim Cymbala, yesterday (9-7-11) which I highly recommend.  I had read it several years ago, but it was even more meaningful at this stage in my life.

I am also reading Sit, Walk, Stand, by Watchman Nee.  An excellent expository on Ephesians.

I recommend Dallas Willard's The Divine Conspiracy, and Renovation of the Heart.

I recently read God's Generals, by Roberts Liardon.  It was so interesting to read about the lives of those God used to start revival fires around the world, and the sacrifices they made to be used by God.

God's War On Terror:  Islam, Prophecy and the Bible, by Walid Shoebat with Joel Richardson.  What an eye opener!

A friend introduced me to Pagan Christianity, by Frank Viola a few months ago.  I liked it so much that I now have read most of Frank's books and sometimes read his blog on his website at Present Testimony Ministries. I especially like two of his books, From Eternity to Here, and Jesus Manifesto, which he co-authored with Leonard Sweet.  These are books I want to read again because there is so much to learn in each of them.  From Eternity to Here gives a whole new perspective on being a Christian.  I am now reading his newest, Revise Us Again.

Destined to Reign, and Unmerited Favor, both by Joseph Prince, have shed much new insight into the meaning of grace for me.  I highly recommend them.

I recommend 4 Keys to Hearing God's Voice by Mark Virkler, which I have mentioned in several posts.

The Accidental Intercessor by Melinda Fish has recently been published.  I loved the book!

Healing Through Deliverance by Peter Horrobin is excellent!
