New recipe--Chocolate Zucchini Bread

I haven't been cooking much lately and have definitely not been  trying new recipes, but when my friend, Norma, said she had just made an amazing chocolate zucchini bread, which she highly recommended, and I had lots of zucchini, I thought I should try it.  Am I ever glad I did!  It is scrumptious if you are a chocolate lover.  I have not been a great fan of zucchini bread so it's a good thing she recommended it, or I would have missed a great addition to my recipe file.

Here's the recipe, if you want to try it:

Chocolate Zucchini Bread

Mix together:

3 large eggs; 1 c. oil; 2 c. sugar; 1/2 c. cocoa; 2 T. vanilla

Add to eggs & oil mixture:

2 1/2 c. flour; 1 t. salt; 1 1/2 t. baking soda; 2 1/2 t. baking powder

After mixing, add:

2 c. grated zucchini; 1 c. chocolate chips

Spray (grease) 2 bread pans and spread batter evenly in them.  Bake at 350 degrees for 60 minutes.  Use toothpick to check doneness.

It's time to "Walk Our Talk"

I'm still here! I haven't abandoned the blog.  So much has happened this summer that I can't seem to find time or focus to write, but I just need to express something that is bugging me!  So I decided today would be a good day.

These past few weeks I have been meditating on what it means to be a true representative of Christ.  A Christian couple I love and admire are going through a difficult time in their marriage and are talking about divorce. That makes me angry!  Doesn't the Bible say God hates divorce? Isn't unfaithfulness the only reason given for divorce in scripture?  Divorce should not be an option or consideration just because someone is unhappy! Whatever happened to committment? To death do us part? Do we really love God enough to learn to love those He puts in our lives instead of throwing them out when we are unhappy with them? How can we say we believe the Bible and then give up on relationships because they are difficult? I think it is shameful that the divorce rate of Christians is as high as those who don't proclaim to be Christian.  I thought we were to be salt and light!  Isn't marriage a covenant before God and to be a reflection of how He loves the church?  Isn't His love everlasting even when we are difficult and unloveable?  I believe it is time for us to grow up and start "walking our talk"--or stop talking if we aren't walking it because it's giving Cbristianity a very bad name!

Do any of you feel that way?  I 'm hoping to find a few "sold out" ones who will meet to determine how the Bible says we should live and then hold each other accountable as we try to follow what we are learning--not compromising because we want our own way.  I'm tired of lukewarm Christianity!

I would love to hear your comments and I invite you to join me in a quest for authenticity.
