THE BIGGEST SCANDAL IN U.S. HISTORY by Ann Coulter

I usually don't post political columns, but I am fed up and disgusted with corrupt politicians who make decisions that endanger the very people who put them in office because they have an agenda to change America.  The American public has been duped by wicked men in high places who have a plan to rule this country and destroy the freedoms it was founded upon.  We must become wise to their schemes and plans and demand a change.
It is time to take a stand for righteousness and elect only those people who have proven to be upright and moral.  I believe this next election will determine the fate of America.  How much do we care?  Are we educating ourselves about what is happening, or just believing what we are being told by the mainstream media?  It is time to wise up and rise up!  Let's take back our country in this next election!

THE BIGGEST SCANDAL IN U.S. HISTORY by Ann Coulter

June 27, 2012Forget executive privilege, contempt of Congress, "fast and furious," how many documents the government has produced and who said what to whom on which date.

The Obama administration has almost certainly engaged in the most shockingly vile corruption scandal in the history of the country, not counting the results of Season Eight on "American Idol."

Administration officials intentionally put guns into the hands of Mexican drug cartels, so that when the guns taken from Mexican crime scenes turned out to be American guns, Democrats would have a reason to crack down on gun sellers in the United States.

Democrats will never stop trying to take our guns away. They see something more lethal than a salad shooter and wet themselves.

But since their party was thrown out of Congress for the first time in nearly half a century as a result of passing the 1994 "assault weapons ban," even liberals know they were going to need a really good argument to pass any limitation on guns ever again.

So it's curious that Democrats all started telling the same lie about guns as soon as Obama became president. In March 2009, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced to reporters on a trip to Mexico: "Since we know that the vast majority, 90 percent of that weaponry (used by Mexican drug cartels), comes from our country, we are going to try to stop it from getting there in the first place."

As she sentimentally elaborated on Fox News' Greta Van Susteren show: "The guns sold in the United States, which are illegal in Mexico, get smuggled and shipped across our border and arm these terrible drug-dealing criminals so that they can outgun these poor police officers along the border and elsewhere in Mexico."

Suddenly that 90 percent statistic was everywhere. It was like the statistic on women beaten by their husbands on Super Bowl Sunday.

CBS' Bob Schieffer asked Obama on "Face the Nation": "It's my understanding that 90 percent of the guns that they're getting down in Mexico are coming from the United States. We don't seem to be doing a very good job of cutting off the gun flow. Do you need any kind of legislative help on that front? Have you, for example, thought about asking Congress to reinstate the ban on assault weapons?"

At a Senate hearing, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said: "It is unacceptable to have 90 percent of the guns that are picked up in Mexico and used to shoot judges, police officers and mayors ... come from the United States."

And then, thanks to Fox News -- the first network to report it -- we found out the 90 percent figure was complete bunkum. It was a fabrication told by William Hoover, of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATF), and then spread like wildfire by Democrats and the media.

Mexican law enforcement authorities send only a fraction of the guns they recover from criminals back to the U.S. for tracing. Which guns do they send? The guns that have U.S. serial numbers on them. It would be like asking a library to produce all their Mark Twain books and then concluding that 90 percent of the books in that library are by Mark Twain.

You begin to see why the left hates Fox News so much.

Obama backed away from the preposterous 90 percent claim. His National Security Council spokesman explained to Fox News that by "recovered," they meant "guns traceable to the United States." So, in other words, Democrats were frantically citing the amazing fact that almost all the guns traceable to the U.S. were ... traceable to the U.S.

Attorney General Eric Holder told reporters that even if the percentage is inaccurate, the "vast majority" of guns seized in crimes in Mexico come from the United States. (And he should know, because it turns out he was sending them there!)

This was absurd. Most of the guns used by drug cartels are automatic weapons -- not to mention shoulder-fired rockets -- that can't be sold to most Americans. They are acquired from places like Russia, China and Guatemala.

Right about the time the 90 percent lie was unraveling, the Obama administration decided to directly hand thousands of American guns over to Mexican criminals. Apart from the fact that tracking thousands of guns into Mexico is not feasible or rational, the dumped guns didn't have GPS tracing devices on them, anyway. There is no conceivable law enforcement objective to such a program.

This is what we know:

(1) Liberals thought it would be a great argument for gun control if American guns were ending up in the hands of Mexican criminals;

(2) They wanted that to be true so badly, Democrats lied about it;

(3) After they were busted on their lie, the Obama administration began dumping thousands of guns in the hands of Mexican criminals.

We also know that hundreds of people were murdered with these U.S.-government-supplied guns, including at least one American, U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry.

But let's look on the bright side. The BATF was originally going to ship warheads to Iran until realizing the explosions might disable the tracking devices.

(Contrary to more Democrat lies, there was no program to dump thousands of guns in Mexico under George W. Bush. The Bush administration did have a program that put GPS trackers on about 100 guns in order to actually trace them. That operation was ended almost as soon as it began because of the lack of cooperation from Mexican officials. You may as well say Holder's program was "started" by the first cop who ever put tracer dye on contraband.)

No one has explained what putting 2,500 untraceable guns in the hands of Mexican drug dealers was supposed to accomplish.

But you know what that might have accomplished? It would make the Democrats' lie retroactively true -- allowing them to push for the same gun restrictions they were planning when they first concocted it. A majority of guns recovered from Mexican criminals would, at last, be American guns, because Eric Holder had put them there.

Unfortunately for the Democrats, some brave whistleblower inside the government leaked details of this monstrous scheme. As soon as Congress and the public demanded answers, Holder clammed up. He just says "oops" -- and accuses Republicans of racism.

Roadmap To Restoration...Mahesh & Bonnie Chavda

Last night I had a dream about prayer.  I can't remember the whole dream, but in it I was telling a group of people that prayer is the platform for everything.  They were cheering. When I read this word by Mahesh & Bonnie Chavda this morning it seemed to go along with my dream and gave me much encouragement.  We are in a desperate time in our nation.  It is time to get serious about prayer, but as we pray, God will give us favor to restore the foundations and rebuild the walls, just as he did Nehemiah.  Please join me (and millions of others) in fervent prayer for God's Will to be done and His Kingdom to come in the United States of America, and the rest of the world.

Mahesh and Bonnie ChavdaAs in the Days of Nehemiah
At a kairos moment in God's timetable, He stirred the hearts of His prophets and His people to return from captivity and restore worship, the law, and security to Jerusalem. The central figure to this work was the Holy Spirit. He moved on the hearts of exiles, prophets, and pagan kings to rebuild the desolate places, anointing leaders to complete the work and bestowing favor for the provision of all that they needed.
It is our firm conviction that we stand at another kairos where God is with us in the same manner He was to rebuild His broken down city in the days of Nehemiah, Ezra, and the prophets of old.
The Book of Nehemiah gives a prophetic picture of our roadmap to restoration. Jerusalem and her people were demoralized and defenseless. Her walls were broken down and gates burned with fire. Nehemiah hears the report of desolation. He responds with intercession, and he gets a strategy from Heaven for his nation:
"O Lord, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who delight to fear Your name, and give success to Your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man..."
Like Queen Esther before him, Nehemiah was one of God's ambassadors uniquely positioned for influence and salvation in the high places of the land. As the king's cupbearer, he was an entrusted servant of the court. And like Esther, he feared the Lord and recognized his position was for a greater purpose. He risked his life to appear before the king with a sad countenance, but he was seeking the opportunity to intercede on behalf of his nation. Christians stand before the throne of Heaven. There is no higher authority or greater place of influence in any nation than the praying Church!
In the month of Nisan, in the twentieth year of King Artaxerxes, when wine was before him, I took up the wine and gave it to the king. Now I had not been sad in his presence. And the king said to me, "Why is your face sad, seeing you are not sick? This is nothing but sadness of the heart..." Nehemiah 2:1-2
We are in a time of revival. And the King is pouring out fresh wine to revive our hearts. It's not a time for sadness. It's a time for restoration.
...Then I was very much afraid. I said to the king, "Let the king live forever! Why should not my face be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers' graves, lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire?" Nehemiah 2:2-3
The place of our fathers' graves – the spiritual and national heritage won for us by our fathers – appears to be in ruins. Our gates are burned with fire in the absence of leaders who possess moral virtue or true wisdom. But the roots are there, and at the scent of water, they will send forth their shoots.
Then the king said to me, "What are you requesting?"...Nehemiah 2:4
                                        "Ask of Me..."
Jesus has extended the favor of Calvary to all who believe. God has set His King on Zion, and Jesus is extending His scepter saying, "Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations" (see Psalm 2:8). This is the same Psalm prayed by the early Church when they were pressed on every side by men and authorities under the influence of the antichrist spirit:
"...Sovereign Lord, who made the Heaven and the Earth and the sea and everything in them, who through the mouth of our father David, Your servant, said by the Holy Spirit, 'Why did the Gentiles rage, and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers were gathered together, against the Lord and against His Anointed' ...And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant to Your servants to continue to speak Your word with all boldness, while You stretch out Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of Your holy servant Jesus" (Acts 4:24-26,29-30).

This is our request:
Lord, anoint us to rise and rebuild the cities of our fathers as an inheritance for our sons and daughters. Give us boldness, Your authority, and the resources we need to rebuild our spiritual and national defenses. Give us leaders such that it would be to Your glory to repair our borders, our homes, our families, and give us the victory. Jesus, we declare You Lord over ourselves and over our nation. We plead Your Blood by which You purchased nations, tribes, and tongues over America. We cry, "Arise O God, let Your enemies be scattered!"
...And the king granted me what I asked, for the good hand of my God was upon me. Nehemiah 2:8
More than in Nehemiah's day, "The good hand of our God is upon us!" We have His Spirit dwelling in us. We are the recipients of the blessings of Abraham poured out at Pentecost and ongoing to our day. We are part of His mission to bless all the nations through Jesus and the good news of the Gospel. So, let's go forward.
...Now the king had sent with me officers of the army and horsemen. Nehemiah 2:9
There are more that are with us than against us. As we pray and stand in the gap for America, let us not forget the heavenly hosts are rallied to His cause. We have personally received many confirmations of this truth, including the angel fresh from battle who appeared to Mahesh.
I went out by night by the Valley Gate to the Dragon Spring and to the Dung Gate, and I inspected the walls of Jerusalem that were broken down and its gates that had been destroyed by fire.Nehemiah 2:13
The Lord is revealing His strategies both hidden and revealed to His servants in the Church and in the public square in this hour. So, as you look around and as you listen to the reports, do so using the down payment of your inheritance, the presence of the Holy Spirit for manifold equipping and enabling to see, understand, judge, and move in His power (see Isaiah 11).

This is our prayer:
Lord, by Your Spirit, enable us in the fear of the Lord to not judge by what our eyes see, or decide disputes by what our ears hear, but to judge with righteousness and decide with equity so that harmony is restored in the demonstration of Your Kingdom and will on earth as it is in Heaven.
But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite servant heard this, it displeased them greatly that someone had come to seek the welfare of the people of IsraelNehemiah 2:10
Demonic principalities and powers are stirred up in great displeasure at the audacity of Believers who have determined to seek the welfare of their cities and nations – submit to God and resist the devil.
So I answered them, and said to them, "The God of Heaven Himself will prosper us..." Nehemiah 2:20
We are in a prophetic hour, a set time of favor for America to arise and shine in her destiny. It's not by might nor by power but by the Spirit of the Lord that we will rebuild and restore the desolate places of our nation
and heritage. Let God arise!

It is almost time for Elevate 2012!

I can't believe how quickly time is flying!  It's almost time for the 3rd annual Elevate concert at the Martinsville Fairgrounds.  It is going to be another not-to-be-missed event, with Kutless, For King and Country, and Josh Wilson--3 top bands in the field of Christian contemporary music.   The concert will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 7, with gates opening at 4:00.  There will even be free bounce houses for the kids all evening while the concert is going on.
A friend and I spent most of Monday hanging posters in gas stations, coffee shops, restaurants--anywhere people congregate in towns in Illinois within 50 miles of Martinsville to get the word out about the concert.  And then I hung several in Terre Haute yesterday.
We also put up Martinsville Fair posters.  The Fair begins the day after Elevate with gospel music on Sunday night.  The carnival doesn't arrive till Tuesday, but it is well worth the wait.  This carnival has state fair quality rides.  Because the goal of the fair is to provide family entertainment, the Fair Board  has made it possible for everyone to ride the rides all evening with a $5 admission to the fairgrounds.  How wonderful for families on a tight budget!  Ride all evening for only $5!
Don't miss this fun-packed week, July 7-14, at the Martinsville Fairgrounds!

A great reminder from the Lord by Marsha Burns

I had saved this reminder from Marsha Burns' morning email devotional, but hadn't gotten around to posting it.  Now seems like an excellent time to be reminded to "give thanks in all things," and to remember the many blessings God has already given us.

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by MARSHA BURNS (http://ft111.com/)

Reflect and be reminded of good things.  This is a season of blessing and favor, and when your heart is grateful and you express that gratitude in prayer, it opens the door for even greater blessings.  Conversely, your grumbling and complaining will create spiritual barrenness, says the Lord.  Take time to be thankful.
Romans 1:21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Farm to Table Dinner

We had a fun day on Saturday!  Two members of our community, Jason Connor and George Greenwell, with their committee of dedicated workers, planned and orchestrated a Farm to Table Dinner & Farm Tour.  I had heard earlier they had printed 60 tickets and all were sold.
The evening included tours of 4 local gardens/food producers.  Our first stop, after meeting at Harlan Hall so we could drive in a caravan to the rest of the stops, was at the L & A Family Farms near Paris.  There we toured their poultry operation and natural foods garden.  Next we stopped at the Davidson Gardens in Marshall to see the beautiful flower gardens of Lisa Davidson.  She explained how many of the flowers and objects in her gardens came from her mother and grandmother.  Next was  Johnson Branch Produce near Martinsville where we toured the Clouds' organic garden.   The tour  ended at Buck Valley Wildlife where Jack Crumrin explained how he became interested in raising elk because of the quality of their meat.  We saw some of his elk herd and were amazed at the size of this buck.

Later we enjoyed a delicious dinner of elk burgers, and other wonderful delights prepared from local produce in the Crumrin's new conference facility built on the site.  After dinner we were entertained by the Yellow Hammer Bluegrass Gospel Band.  It was a very special day.

A big THANK YOU to Jason & George and the rest who made it happen!

p.s. At every stop we were reminded of how desperately everyone needs rain.  Each of the owners of the gardens apologized because their plants were not it top shape but very thirsty.  We still have received no rain and there is none in the forecast for the next 10 days.  Temperatures are forecast in the 90's most of those 10 days, with Thursday & Friday predicted to reach 101 degrees.  Unless we have an intervention from the Lord, I don't see how we will have any crops in this area this year.  I overheard one of the participants on the tour, who is a farmer, say they are considering disking up some of their early planted corn because it has already tasseled but there are no ears on the stalk to pollinate.
Please continue to pray for our community.

Excerpt from an article by John Belt

This is an excerpt from an excellent article by John Belt.  You can read the whole article here.  Sometimes I find myself being critical of others.  Do you?  This excerpt was an attitude adjustment for me.  I thought you might find it helpful, too.

5. The Spirit of Honor
1 Peter 2:17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
Scripture says that we are to honor all men. If this includes people outside of the faith, then how much more those who are in.
What does it mean to honor? God gives us all opportunities to honor people. David was convicted when he cut a piece of cloth of Saul's robe. He was grieved that he did such a thing. Are you grieved when you speak ill of someone even though they may be wrong? We reap what we sow. If we sow the wind, we reap the whirlwind. Our mouths are to be a means of blessing people, not speaking curses over others. Maybe you think someone needs to repent. Did you know that it is the "goodness" of God that brings men to repentance? Try praying the goodness of God upon people's lives. Ask for God's love, goodness, and mercy to be displayed instead of gossiping about people. Or is it that people really don't want other people to change because of their own bitter hearts?
In many cases most would rather gossip than pray for others. Some prayer groups are more like "gossip groups." People look for places to vent their opinions. If you see this happening, expose it on the spot. Whenever you presume to speak negative things about others behind their backs, you are uncovering them and dishonoring them. It is backstabbing. God is not pleased with this. Make sure you have a heart that honors people, and avoid those who talk about others in dishonoring ways. Keep yourself clean. Then pray God's goodness and love be poured out on all involved. When you honor others in private, God will honor you in public. Let your speech be seasoned with salt. Salt is a cleansing agent. It preserves, heals, and restores.
God is faithful!

Still no rain! Please keep praying!

For those of you who may not know but are interested, we still have received no rain and there is no rain forecast in the foreseeable future.  The situation here is becoming desperate.  Please continue to pray with us.

Thursday, June 21, 2012

Pray with us, please.

We are desperately in need of rain.  We have had no measurable precipitation for over a month with temperatures mainly in the 90's.  I am amazed the crops are still alive, but now the corn is coming to a critical stage.  Some of it is already beginning to tassel.  It must have rain to produce a crop.  The weather channel has forecast a 40% chance of rain today.  If it doesn't happen there is no other rain in the forecast for the next 10 days--just more 90+ degree weather.  Please pray for us.
This is also the night (every Thursday until the event on July 7) that we pray for the Elevate 2012 concert.  We invite you to join with us in praying for rain to fall on this thirsty land, and the rain of the Holy Spirit to fall on thirsty souls.
       Please, Lord, let it rain!!

For Dreams to Come True by Francis Frangipane

This word from Francis Frangipane convicted me of letting the immediate things in life crowd out the important things and caused me to search my soul.  Do I really want God's presence?  Am I willing to make it a priority?  How?  What am I going to give up to make time to consciously be in His presence?  Am I prepared to say "No!" to some of the daily demands in my life to allow time for Him to draw me near?

Francis Frangipane      Just because we walk and talk does not mean we are truly awake. Zechariah was not sleeping when an angel roused him "as a man who is awakened from his sleep" (Zechariah 4:1). Perhaps we too need to be shaken from our slumber to possess the promises of God!
Amazingly, in spite of all the signs, wonders, and warnings announcing that we are truly in the last days, Jesus said there will also be a mysterious drowsiness that we must discern and overcome. Indeed, immediately after highlighting the various evidences of the end (Matthew 24), He compares the Church to virgins who "all got drowsy and began to sleep"(Matthew 25:5).
Virgins sleeping at the end of the age? It seems incomprehensible with the coming "wonders in the sky above and signs on the earth below" (Acts 2:19), not to mention the powerful, worldwide herald of the Gospel of God's Kingdom. Yet, this phenomenon of spiritual slumber, of losing our God-seeking hunger, is something we must guard against.
When this slumbering spirit approaches, it first dulls our perception. Soon, our zeal for the things of God diminishes. We still love the Lord, of course, but our vision sits in the back seat as other less important aspects of life set the direction for our lives.
Indeed, from the beginning, the voice of satan has had this seductive, lulling effect on mankind. Eve's excuse for disobedience? "The serpent hath caused me to forget" (Genesis 3:13 Young's Literal Translation).
This sense of spiritual forgetfulness, of drowsiness, is the cloud of blindness that we each must discern and overcome. It was in regard to this that the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart through the following dream:
There was a temple standing in an open field. My view of the temple was from its side, about 200 yards away. I could not see its front, yet it must have been completely open because great light flashed out from the inside; it pulsed like lightning yet was solid like sunlight. The block of light coursed straight out, and I knew this light was the glory of God.
The temple was so close, just across the field, that I knew with just a little effort I could enter the glory of God. His holy presence was clearly within my reach. There were others also in the dream who were directly in front of me, people I recognized from church. Each one seemed busy. And while the temple and its light were visible and readily accessible to all, every head was bent downward and turned away from the light; each was occupied with other things.
I heard one person say, "I have to do laundry." Another said, "I have to go to work." I could see people reading newspapers, watching televisions, and eating. I was sure everyone could see the light if they wanted to – even more sure that we all knew His glory was near.
There were even a few people reading the Bible and praying, but everyone maintained the downward thrust of their gaze; they all had a mental barrier of some kind between them and the place of God's presence. No one, in fact, seemed capable of standing up, turning, and steadfastly walking into the very near glory of God.
As I watched, suddenly my wife lifted her head and beheld the temple in the field. She stood and walked without pausing toward the open front. As she drew closer to the light, a garment of glory formed and thickened around her; the closer she went, the more dense the light surrounding her became. Finally, she stepped in front of the temple, turned, and stood in full view of the blazing glory of God. Then she entered the temple.
Oh! How jealous I felt. My wife had entered the glory of God before me! At the same time I realized that there was nothing stopping me from approaching God's presence – nothing except the multitude of things to do and responsibilities that, in truth, ruled my life more than the voice of God.
Pushing the weight of these pressures from me, I determined to rise and enter the temple myself. But, to my great regret, in my dream as I rose up, I suddenly woke up! The longing and disappointment within me seemed unbearable. I had been so close to entering God's presence. How I wanted to enter the temple and be swallowed up in His glory!
I cried, "Lord, why did You let me wake up?"
Immediately, the word of the Lord responded. He said, "I will not have My servant's life fulfilled by a dream. If you want your dream to come true, you have to wake up."

                    Breaking Passivity; Setting Priorities
Beloved, today God is awakening us to the reality of His presence. The promises the Lord gives us in the Scriptures must become more to us than dream-like realities reserved only for the hereafter. Moses frequented the glory of God. Israel's seventy elders ate and drank in God's resplendent glory (Exodus 24:9-11). Jesus unveiled God's glory to His key disciples on the Mount of Transfiguration! Paul says that beholding the glory of the Lord is the very means of our transformation (2 Corinthians 3:18).
For this reason the Scripture says, "Awake, sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you" (Ephesians 5:14). If we truly want Christ to "shine" upon us, we must arise from the distractions that entomb us in lethargy and spiritual drowsiness.
Right at this moment, the presence of the living God is near enough to hear the whisper of our hearts. But if we want our dream of standing in the presence of God to come true, we must wake up.
Awaken my heart, Lord. Open my eyes to all that You are and everything we can be together. Lead me to Your presence and show me how to truly keep You first in my life. Show me what will have lasting significance. I want all of You, and I want to experience Your glory!
The preceding message is adapted from a chapter in Francis' book, And I Will Be Found By You.

22. My mother taught me GENETICS.
     "You're just like your father."
23. My mother taught me about my  ROOTS.
"Shut that door behind you.  Do you think you were born in a barn?"
24. My mother taught me WISDOM.
"When you get to be my age, you'll understand."
And my favorite:
25.  My mother taught me about JUSTICE.
"One day you'll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you !"
Only you folks my age understand these profound statements!!!
But, there is one missing from this list~~My personal all time favorite!!
My mother taught me about CHOICE.
"Do you want me to stop this car?"
