The Election Dilemma by Dr. David R. Reagan

       I think this is a very good analysis of what were looking at in the coming election.  I've heard some say they weren't planning to vote because they didn't like either candidate.  Well, one is going to be elected whether we vote or not, so why not read this as an aid in understanding what we are up against.  Do we want secular humanism to be the god of the United States or are we going to vote for traditional family and moral values?

        Over the past few months we have been inundated with inquiries about the presidential election. All of these have expressed a great sense of frustration about the choice we are faced with. And that is understandable when you consider the fact that neither of the two main candidates is a Christian.

Mitt Romney
         Mitt Romney certainly is not a Christian. He has been spiritually deceived into giving his heart to a false religion that masquerades as Christian.
         Since its founding back in the 1830’s, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) has taken the position that it is the one and only true church and that all the rest of Christendom, both Catholic and Protestant, is apostate.
        The Mormons teach and preach a false Jesus who is not God in the flesh. Instead, He is portrayed as one of thousands of subordinate gods who were created by the super god of this planet, who is an exalted man.
         The Mormons thus deny the trinitarian concept of God that is revealed in the Scriptures. They reject the truth that Jesus was God in the flesh, and they view the Holy Spirit as an impersonal force.
         The Mormons teach salvation by good works, in direct contradiction to the Bible’s teaching that salvation is by grace through faith, and not by works (Ephesians 2:8-10). And the Mormons teach that their most faithful followers will become gods themselves with their own planets to populate and rule. In short, Mormons are polytheists.
         Mormonism thus presents “another gospel” that is foreign to the gospel of the Bible. And the Apostle Paul declared that all non-biblical gospels are an anathema and that those who proclaim them are to be “accursed” (Galatians 1:8-9).

Barack Obama
         President Barack Obama is also not a Christian, despite his claims to be one. I proved this conclusively in the third edition of my book, America the Beautiful? (2009).
         In an interview he gave in 2004, Obama stated point-blank, “I believe there are many paths to the same place [Heaven].” To the contrary, Jesus said there was only one, and He was it (John 14:6).
        When Obama was asked, “Who’s Jesus to you?” he responded that Jesus was an “historical figure,” “a bridge between God and Man,” and a “wonderful teacher.” There was no expression of Jesus as God in the flesh, the Savior who died for our sins.
        Obama shocked his interviewer by saying that there was one thing in particular about Christianity that he had difficulty dealing with — and that is the tendency of many Christians to engage in evangelism! He said he believed the desire to proselytize was based on a belief that if “people haven’t embraced Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, that they’re going to Hell.”
        Obama has obviously never heard of Jesus’ Great Commandment to preach the Gospel to all the world (Mark 16:15-16).
        Because of highly unorthodox comments like these about Christianity, and because of his obvious enthusiasm for Islam, many have concluded that Obama is a closet Muslim. I don’t think so. Based on his statements and his policies, I have concluded that Obama is a classic Humanist, meaning that he is a person who believes in the essential goodness of Man and his ability to achieve fulfillment on his own through the power of reason.

Remedial Judgments
         One of the main points I made in my book, America the Beautiful? , is that when a nation blessed by God turns its back on its Benefactor, God will place remedial judgments upon the nation in order to call it to repentance. And one of those judgments can be that of giving the nation the kind of leaders it deserves.
        That was certainly the case in 2008 when Barack Obama was elected president.
        The continuing judgment of God upon our nation can be seen in the choice for President we are now presented with. For the first time in U.S. history, neither candidate is a Christian.

A Clear Choice
        But despite that fact, we are confronted with a real choice.  It is not a matter of Tweedledee and Tweedledum.
        On one hand, we have a candidate who is a non-Christian Mormon. He believes in traditional family and moral values, he respects the heritage of America, he supports Israel, he recognizes Islam as our nation’s enemy, and he believes in Capitalism.
        On the other hand, we have a candidate who is a non-Christian Humanist. He rejects traditional family and moral values, he despises our nation’s heritage, he holds Israel in contempt, he loves Islam, and he believes in Socialism.
        The choice is not an ideal one. But there is a clear choice.
        May God have mercy on our nation.

It's Time to Seek the Lord

       If you don't have time to read all of this article, start at the heading "Turnaround."  We must pray, but first we must repent!

Last week, the book of Jonah was read in synagogues across the globe on Yom Kippur. You're probably wondering, "Jonah? What does Jonah have to do with the most Holy Day of the year?" It is a rather far cry from the solemn image we have of the High Priest going before the presence in the Holy of Holies each year. But Yom Kippur is a prophetic picture of the day Jesus' Blood would make a way for true repentance that leads to eternal salvation in the presence of the Living God. And Jonah's comical story of a prophet on the run who is swallowed by a whale is the greatest event of corporate repentance in recorded history.
       The book of Jonah is timely for the season of corporate prayer and fasting that we began on Friday, September 28. He is a type of the Church, a carrier of God's message and anointing for deliverance in this hour. His journey is one we can relate to.God chose an unlikely hero, using him for the most amazing evangelistic outreach in spite of His chosen servant's reluctance, blunders and outright resistance.
                                          Awakening!
      We all know Jonah's story. God tells him He has a message for Nineveh. Jonah watches his life flash before his eyes at the thought of such a dangerous mission and gets the notion that a vacation in Tarshish is just the ticket. As he boards the ship in the opposite direction from Nineveh, the Bible tells us Jonah's true intent – to get "away from the presence of God."
What is the answer for America? God's presence. Everything begins and ends when we seek to be a people of God's presence. Let us seek God's face!
      Things start going wrong right away. A furious storm barrages the ship. The crew does all they can to fight the storm, but things are looking pretty grim.
      Was God out to punish Jonah? No! God's mission still stood, and Jonah was still the man God had anointed to bring the message. He was drawing Jonah back to his destiny. He was awakening Jonah to His presence. Ironically, it is the heathen captain that God uses to wake him. "What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God; perhaps your God will consider us, so that we may not perish" (Jonah 1:6).
       Jonah has lost his bearings. He has gone as low as he could go, as far as he could run, and finally fallen asleep to his call and destiny. But God is using his natural circumstances to shake him out of complacency. He wants to bring deliverance. America is in a season of shaking. But this is not a time to fear. God is calling to His Church, "Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you" (Ephesians 5:14). The whole earth is groaning for the revelation of God's anointed servants in this hour. God wants to bring awakening, starting with us.
                             In the Belly of a Whale
        Once Jonah is identified as the source of the trouble, the Captain asks, "What is your occupation? And where do you come from? What is your country? And of what people are you?" (1:8). Jonah comes to a moment of truth. He is a servant of the Living God. He has a mission. He is a Hebrew. He tells the crew,"Throw me overboard!" Jonah makes a change of direction. Instead of running from God, he puts himself at the mercy of God and throws himself into the storm.
         Fortunately for Jonah, none of this is a surprise and God already has another vessel chartered for Jonah's journey to Nineveh. Within moments, Jonah is settled into the luxury suite of the belly of a whale. We took note a few years ago when scientists spotted a gray whale off the coast of Israel. The whale was thousands of miles outside of its normal habitat, and had never been seen in this region before. The large fish God had prepared in advance to swallow Jonah may have had a journey of several weeks just to arrive to pick up his cargo! We believe this whale sighting in Israeli waters is a prophetic sign that we are in a season of deliverance. God is moving on behalf of His people Israel and His Church in this hour.
         "I cried out to the Lord because of my affliction, and He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and You heard my voice" (Jonah 2:2). Have you had enough debt? Enough joblessness? Enough of calling good evil, and evil good?America is in the belly of the whale and it is time to seek the face of the Lord.
                                  Turn Around
        God is telling America, "Turn around!" It first takes personal repentance. Jonah is headed in the wrong direction, but God sends a fish to help him make a return. During his three-day journey Jonah comes to a revelation that God is the Lord. "But I will sacrifice to You with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay what I have vowed. Salvation is of the Lord" (2:9) He turns his heart, and God delivers him out of the whale onto the shore of his destiny.
         Thanksgiving is one of the keys to our turnaround. We can't let the storms pull us down into depression, despair, doubt, or fear. As we fast and pray, let us stay in an atmosphere of praise and thanksgiving. Begin thanking God now. We believe we are in a season of miracles and His deliverance is at hand!
         "Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time"(3:1). As Jonah unceremoniously walks up to Nineveh to deliver God's message, he is covered in seaweed, whale vomit, a bit shriveled, and a lot worse for the wear. He must have looked and smelled atrocious. But he delivered the message and the city that was infamous for evil turned to God in repentance, fasting, and prayer. It was a kairos time for Nineveh, and the people recognized their hour of visitation and stepped in.
        It had little to do with Jonah. It had everything to do with the Lord. The most wicked people in the wickedest city responded because of the anointing. The king laid aside his robes and covered himself in sackcloth. 120,000 people fasted and prayed for mercy from God. The spirit of repentance sparked a revival that exploded in a supernatural wave of power that changed and the course of history. 3,000 years later, Jonah's message is still bearing fruit. Nineveh is a Christian city to this day, electing the only Christian to the Iraqi parliament, and has a culture of following the Lord.
We are in God's set time for deliverance. We are in God's kairos time for favor. If God could use this man and turn this wicked city, nothing is impossible. America is a Christian nation with a destiny that still stands. It's time to awaken from slumber. It's time to remember who we are. It is time to seek the Lord.
       "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14). You are God's representative to America. We invite you to join with us as we harmonize with Christians across America in 40 Days to Save America (started last week). We are praying for a supernatural turn around for America. May the Lord send the spirit of repentance to our land. As we set aside this season to humble ourselves in prayer and fasting, may He hear our cry and have mercy on our nation.

A Thankful Heart

       How important thanksgiving is!!  It is so important we get this deep into our spirits!  But how quickly I forget!  I need to be reminded again and again so I am adding this from Francis Frangipane so I can read it as often as I need to.

A Thankful Man is a Humble Man
       If you think you know God but do not live your life in gratitude before Him, it is doubtful that you really knew Him in the first place.  A thankful heart honors God.  Too often when people say they "know God," what we actually mean is they know facts about God.  But we should ask ourselves, "Do I truly know Him?"
       Paul warns that just knowing doctrines about God is not enough to enter eternal life. He said,  "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.  For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks; but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened" (Rom. 1:20-21).
       Even though we may know God, if we do not "honor Him as God or give thanks" to Him in our daily walk, our minds darken.  When we are in that hardened, ungrateful state of mind, every word we speak is a spark lit by hell, set to destroy the quality of our lives (James 3:6).
       H. W. Beecher said, "Pride slays thanksgiving . . . a proud man is seldom a grateful man, for he never thinks he gets as much as he deserves."  We should be thankful that we do not get what we deserve!
      When God gives us less than we desire, it is not because He is teaching us poverty; what He is teaching us is thankfulness.  You see, life - real life - is not based upon what we amass but on what we enjoy.  Even in difficult circumstances God still gives us much to appreciate. We fail to see what the Lord has provided because our hearts are wrong.
        Someone once said, "When I see a poor man who is grateful, I know if he were rich, he would be generous."  A thankful spirit is akin to a generous spirit, for both appreciate and receive the riches of God.  When we are thankful with little, God can entrust us with much.
Out of Zion God Has Shown Forth
      "The Mighty One, God, the Lord, has spoken, and summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting. Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God has shone forth" (Ps. 50:1-2).
     The Lord desires to shine forth out of Zion.  It is this God, who beautifies His creation with His presence, who is calling us into covenant He says, "Gather My godly ones to Me, those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice" (Ps. 50:5).

      To make a covenant with someone is to enjoin ourselves in the most solemn bonds of unity.  A covenant is more than a promise; it is the pledge of two lives to live as one.  The union God seeks with us is called a covenant of sacrifice.
      This covenant is not a ritual form of worship; it is not the Jewish sacrifice of bulls and goats.  It transcends time and methodology and reaches to every soul who longs for the living God. It is a covenant of thanksgiving.  He says, "He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me; and to him who orders his way aright I shall show the salvation of God" (Psalm 50:23).
      The terms of the covenant are simple:  We pledge to thank Him and adore Him in everything; He pledges to shine forth from our lives in the perfection of beauty.  It is a sacrifice of thanksgiving, for it will cost us to praise Him when we hurt.  But to do so is part of our healing and the beginning of our salvation.
      Begin to thank Him. Name the gifts He has given you, starting with the blessing of life itself.  When we thank Him, we are honoring Him.
      Today God is calling for His people to enter into a covenant bond with Him - a covenant where we pledge to live a thankful life and He pledges His life to shine forth through us.  This covenant of thanksgiving is the key that shuts and bolts the door to demonic oppression in a person's life.  It is a glorious gate into the shelter of the Most High God.

Blessed Lord, I come this day to covenant with You. By Your grace, I will be thankful regardless of what my life seems. You have given me so much. Forgive me for complaining! This day, I make a covenant of thanksgiving. In Jesus' name. Amen.

A Word from Patricia King

       This encouraging word was posted on The Elijah List today.  I am so glad to hear something positive that I thought you would be, too.  We must pray to see it come to pass so I urge you to seriously begin praying if you haven't already.  You might even want to consider participating in one of the many ministries that have called the country to 40 days of prayer and fasting.
     I believe it is God's will to bless this country because it has been a light and a blessing to so many, but we must return to following Him.  Please pray.


     The USA election is coming soon. Many do not know how to vote. There are disturbing situations in the economy, government, and morals in the land and many negative reports, confessions, and prophetic unctions are being proclaimed over the USA.
      I saw a surprise shift coming – it was an acceleration into the goodness of the Lord. People will stand in awe when it comes. They will ask, "How could this have happened?" They will declare, "This is amazing!"
I saw the economy being blessed, morals shifting, and a powerful outpouring in the Church, BUT  it was all dependent on the Body of Christ fulfilling 2 Chronicles 7:14:
"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from Heaven, forgive their sins, and heal their land."
     The people of America cannot put their trust in a politician or a political party. We must pray for God's intervention for it is "In God We Trust". If we, as God's people, will give ourselves to intense, focused intercession, a turn around is coming – a shift is coming.
      The Lord says: Do not underestimate His mercy and His goodness. He is able to do it and He will do it if we posture ourselves according to 2 Chronicles 7:14. He is looking for a tipping point of faith to be created by a people of prayer.
      It is important for Christians to vote in the coming election.
Do not say, "I do not know how to vote and so I will not vote." The Lord will reveal to you how to cast your vote. Cast it in faith. There are moral issues on the political table. There are issues concerning alliances with Israel that need careful consideration. God's values are clear. Stand with His values.
      It is time to Pray, Pray, Pray for the goodness and mercy of GodIt is time to Pray, Pray, Pray for the Lord to expose and uproot wickednessIt is time to Pray, Pray, Pray.
     A shift is coming. This is an invitation to partner with the goodness of God. It is possible to tip the scales and produce a glorious shift.
     According to 2 Chronicles 7:14:
1. Humble yourself – stand in the gap for the nation's humility and dependency upon God also.
2. Pray – set up prayer times each day until the election and organize prayer meetings and gatherings.
3. Seek His face – invite Him to reveal His Master Plan of goodness, righteousness and grace.
4. Turn from your wicked ways – and stand also in identificational repentance for the land. Believe for the Lord to uproot the wicked and to cause the upright to stand.
     Get ready for a glorious shift. A shift that man cannot produce...BUT GOD!
     We can do it! The BREAKER birthed through prayer and partnership with the Spirit of Grace can shift everything into revival, awakening and great glory!

Entertaining Thoughts

      As I was reading the selection from the New Testament Chronological Reading Plan today I was struck by this verse in Matthew 9: Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?"  He didn't say, "Why are you thinking evil thoughts?" He said why do you "entertain" them.  I looked up the definition of the word "entertain" in the dictionary.  It means "giving attention or consideration to." 
     The devil is always bombarding our minds with evil thoughts, but we are not to give them attention.  How often I do this!  A fleeting thought enters my mind and then before I realize what is happening I am dwelling on thoughts of fear, or worry, or anger, or doubt!
      How much better it would be if I would immediately replace those thoughts with those that God wants me to entertain!  Phil. 4:8 tells us what those are--"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things" 
     Help me, Lord, to be a doer of the word and not a hearer only.  Amen

Letter from David Green, CEO of Hobby Lobby

Column: Christian companies can't bow to sinful mandate by David Green

When my family and I started our com
pany 40 years ago, we were working out of a garage on a $600 bank loan, assembling miniature picture frames. Our first retail store wasn't much bigger than most people's living rooms, but we had faith that we would succeed if we lived and worked according to God's word. From there, Hobby Lobby has become one of the nation's largest arts and crafts retailers, with more than 500 locations in 41 states. Our children grew up into fine business leaders, and today we run Hobby Lobby together, as a family.
We're Christians, and we run our business on Christian principles. I've always said that the first two goals of our business are (1) to run our business in harmony with God's laws, and (2) to focus on people more than money. And that's what we've tried to do. We 
close early so our employees can see their families at night. We keep our stores closed on Sundays, one of the week's biggest shopping days, so that our workers and their families can enjoy a day of rest. We believe that it is by God's grace that Hobby Lobby has endured, and he has blessed us and our employees. We've not only added jobs in a weak economy, we've raised wages for the past four years in a row. Our full-time employees start at 80% above minimum wage.

But now, our government threatens to change all of that. A new government healthcare mandate says that our family business must provide what I believe are 
abortion-causing drugs as part of our health insurance. Being Christians, we don't pay for drugs that might cause abortions. Which means that we don't cover emergency contraception, the morning-after pill or the week-after pill. We believe doing so might end a life after the moment of conception, something that is contrary to our most important beliefs. It goes against the Biblical principles on which we have run this company since day one. If we refuse to comply, we could face $1.3 million per day in government fines.

Our government threatens to fine job creators in a bad economy. Our government threatens to fine a company that's raised wages four years running. Our government threatens to fine a family for running its business according to its beliefs. It's not right.

I know people will say we ought to follow the rules; that it's the same for everybody. But that's not true. The government has 
exempted thousands of companies from this mandate, for reasons of convenience or cost. But it won't exempt them for reasons of religious belief. So, Hobby Lobby — and my family — are forced to make a choice. With great reluctance, we filed a lawsuit today, represented by the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, asking a federal court to stop this mandate before it hurts our business. We don't like to go running into court, but we no longer have a choice. We believe people are more important than the bottom line and that honoring God is more important than turning a profit.

My family has lived the American dream. We want to continue growing our company and providing great jobs for thousands of employees, but the government is going to make that much more difficult. The government is forcing us to choose between following our faith and following the law. I say that's a choice no American — and no American business — should have to make.
