The Enemy's Curses Bring the Blessings of God

     He'd been traveling for some time. Having left his home in haste, he was running for his life. Someone was after him. He had been chased before, but this time it was different. It broke his heart, because this time it was his son.

     He'd been told back at the palace that his son had declared himself king in his place. Quickly gathering what provisions he could carry, he ran away with his very large household.

      His heart was overwhelmed with the shock and pain of the betrayal and deceit. He loved his son. They had had their battles, but he loved him and always would. Now, he was running from him, desperately trying to outmaneuver him and save the rest of his family.

      King David's son, Absalom, had garnered support from some of David's most loyal friends and advisors (see 2 Samuel 15:31) and had cemented his disgrace by sleeping with his father's concubines. David was caught so unaware by his son's betrayal he nearly lost his life (see 2 Samuel 17:2).

Leaving Jerusalem, David wept with his head covered and his feet bare as a sign of mourning in the company of all those with him as they escaped together (see 2 Samuel 15:30).

       As David reached Buhurim, he struggled to keep himself and his family alive, to keep his emotions from betraying him as he tried desperately to wrap his mind around such agonizing betrayal and to find deliverance. In this aggrieved state, he came upon a man named Shimei (see 2 Samuel 16:5-13).

        Shimei was a member of the family of Saul and wanted revenge for what he perceived as David's assault against his family and Saul's throne. He was a bitter and hateful man.

       With utter contempt and disdain for David's position as king, Shimei threw rocks at him and screamed, "Get out of here, you murderer, you scoundrel!...The Lord is paying you back for all the bloodshed in Saul's clan. You stole his throne, and now the Lord has given it to your son Absalom. At last you will taste some of your own medicine, for you are a murderer!" (2 Samuel 16:7-8).

        David's men jumped to his defense, "'Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king?' Abishai son of Zeruiah demanded. 'Let me go over and cut off his head!'" (2 Samuel 16:9).

David At a Crossroads

        David was down and needed help. He needed mercy and knew of no other help for himself but God. As unjust as Shimei's accusations against him were, his only thought was not for reprisal but blessing. He saw Shimei's slander as an opportunity for his own deliverance.

       "No!" the king said. "Who asked your opinion, you sons of Zeruiah! If the Lord has told him to curse me, who are you to stop him?" 2 Samuel 16:10

       David knew God's nature and His great love for him, and he believed God would stick up for him. He put his faith in a just God and wanted His blessing. So, David humbled himself and refused to retaliate against Shimei, wanting God's blessing more than to strike back.

       Then David said to all his servants, "Leave him alone and let him curse, for the Lord has told him to do it. And perhaps the Lord will see that I am being wronged and will bless me because of these curses today" (2 Samuel 16:11-12).

      In a split second, David had to decide how he would react to Shimei's curses. Would he retaliate and have him killed? No, he saw right away how Shimei's curses could make him a target for God's blessings.

       I can't tell you how many times I have been in a similar situation as David's. I've been kicked when I was down – who hasn't? It hurts a great deal, but it is also an opportunity for blessing to be released to us when we need it.

        David knew the power of mercy, and he saw this as an opportunity to release the power of God's heart to his life when he truly needed it.

"Leave him alone," David said. And even as they continued their journey, Shimei followed them and persisted in his frustrating accusations against the king (see 2 Samuel 16:13).

      His wonder-less curses were salt poured in David's open wounds. As though he were not the king, Shimei treated David with no more respect than a dog.

Unrighteous Judgment

       God's plan and will for Jesus was the Cross, and for our sake He embraced it. He died to become the door of our salvation (see John 10:9). Jesus is the Good Shepherd who laid down His life for us. He was the only One worthy of judging us, yet He chose to die for us instead.

Many in the Body of Christ today think their calling is to judge others. We do need righteous judges, but you can only rightly judge what you are willing to die for. If you are willing to die for what you love, then the love of God is in you. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends"(John 15:13).

       Too many are judging what they do not love and their judgments are at best a distortion of the truth. They have been deceived by or submitted themselves to an angel of light (see 2 Corinthians 11:14), possessing an element of the truth without the grace to enable others to receive it.

       What we have to keep in mind and what God seeks to remind us of is that He seeks out the broken and wants to be close to them (see Psalm 34:18). When someone is down and others try to take advantage of them, His heart becomes engaged and enraged and He comes to their defense. He defends them with His blessing.

       I know there have been times I've received blessings from the Father solely due to the treatment I've endured from others. I've been blessed by God because they chose to curse me.

       Your Heavenly Father sees how you've been treated even more clearly than you do. And He sees your heart and retaliates against their antagonism by pouring out His blessings on you.

America At a Crossroads

       God has been shaking America and He's been shaking His Church – He is stripping His Church from what holds it in bondage. As a nation we've experienced God's shaking and discipline, and there have been those who have tried to take advantage of our weakened position. Instead of standing by us in our time of need, they have become an agent for our adversary.

Persecution must come, Christ promised us it would, but woe to those from whom it comes (see Matthew 18:7). The Lord has heard their curses and is preparing to bless us because of their hate-filled plans for this nation.

Indeed, winds of sweeping change are coming to America!

       The Lord says, "In government, in the Church, in the media, in Hollywood, and especially in the area of FINANCES, I will bring sweeping change."

      He said, "Many have said, concerning America, 'It is nothing – we will bring it down!' They have said, 'Destruction will come to America and it will never rise again!' But I, the Lord, am the One and only One who decides the fate of nations. I and I alone determine the heartbeat of the nation of America, and I have determined in My heart I will fill America with a deep, strong, and passionate heartbeat."

       God will bless America because of the curses of our enemies – the more they curse us, the more determined He is to bless us. Truly, He has shaken us, and as He restores us to Himself, He will bless those who have trusted in His faithfulness. For He says,"What you sow into this nation, you will mightily reap."

       You see, the Lord has not lost hope for this nation, and that fact alone should be enough to encourage us. He knows, much more than we do, who our true enemies are and what they are planning against us. Indeed, He knows and already has a plan to save us.

      As a nation and as God's people around the world, He hears the curses and accusations brought against you. Get ready...the blessings are on their way.

Hold On To Your Dreams September 7, 2012 Mitt Romney Dreams It’s time we begin to pay closer attention to what the Lord is saying to us especially through dreams. Sometimes we disregard our dreams or feel they are insignificant. I want to show you through a series of dreams I had, beginning November of last year, how the Lord began to reveal our next President and the need to support him. Vote for Romney Tickets November 12, 2011 In the first dream I was at a County Fair where there were many white tents set up for dining and political rallies. As I entered the largest white tent an old white haired woman greeted me and handed me three sets of tickets for Mitt Romney. The first set was four tickets that gave the honor of being seated at the head table. The second set of tickets was so numerous I could not count them but I was selected to hand these out to people in the tent. I was also given many different sized banners that read “Vote for Romney” that I would hand out as I walked through the crowded tent.  I called out “Vote for Romney!” and handed people a ticket and banner. Then I took a seat in the back as everyone waited with great anticipation for Mr. Romney to arrive at the tent. The third ticket was a single one that simply said “Mitt Romney!” My interpretation: I believe the Lord was showing me that there would be three times Mitt Romney would be launched forward through the election process. The first set of tickets represented the Republican presidential primaries and caucuses would move him out in front. Michele Bachmann, Jon Huntsman and Rick Perry dropped out early in the race leaving only four candidates. These men; Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul, were the candidates seated at the head table. The second set of tickets represented the 2012 Republican National Convention held in Tampa where thousands of Republicans would gather to witness delegates officially nominate Mitt Romney as their candidate for president. I believe the numerous tickets and banners represented the mass of people at the convention and their vote. The Romney banners were on display everywhere. The third was a single ticket with Mitt Romney’s name on it represented the last man standing after the general election in November 2012. I believe the large white tent represents a righteous covering over this nation that will be created as Mitt Romney takes office. The old white haired woman who greeted me with the three sets of tickets represents Wisdom. Wisdom is behind Mr. Romney to lead this nation back to morality, righteousness and economic security. Tsunami! Obama Tsunami! May 4, 2012 In this dream an old priest was dying; two guards were standing duty outside his veiled bed. I was explaining about the inner court, outer court and holy of holies. As I drew near the veil and approached the priest I heard him say to me in a strong yet fading voice “tsunami! Obama tsunami! Obama tsunami!” Immediately I was told to release the guards from their commission and sound the alarm. “Tell everyone to head to the high ground and go to the south shore.” Immediately the guards ran off, we did not gather the old priest. I sounded the alarm and everyone ran to the south shore. My interpretation: Soon there will be a changing of the guards as the old administration is released from its’ commission and the new administration assumes office. It is my belief that “Obama tsunami” implies that everything concerning the current administration will be turned upside down in one great wave or better said, a landslide victory for Mitt Romney. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19b) In Isaiah 22 there was a great change taking place. Those who had been in charge were being replaced by mature fathers.  Shebna, the old order, was being replaced by Eliakim, the new order.  Eliakim means father of the remnant and the remnant were being given the keys of the kingdom.  In this dream the south gate represents Obed-edom. He was a righteous man who housed the ark (glory) of the Lord for three months before King David brought it into the City of David. The Lord greatly blessed Obed-edom. (2 Sam.6:10-13) and I believe that as America is turned back to God righteousness we will see the glory of the Lord return. When I awoke from this dream I prayed for understanding. The only thing I heard was January 16th. Looking back at my notes from that date this year, Bob was told we can look for a change in everything; spiritual, government, president, weather patterns and economy; a perfect storm. Then the Lord asked Bob what he thought about a Mormon president? (The rest of the article can be found on our website – bobjones.org under the 2012 prophetic words “Prayer to turn America back to God.”) Hold on Tight to your Dream May 30, 2012 As this third dream began, Mitt Romney was sitting with Bob and me at a large round table. He was dressed in a blue and white checkered shirt and blue jeans; leaning his elbow on the table. The vision now panned out across what appeared to be a wooden dance floor where folks would normally gather to line dance. Although there were a lot of people on the dance floor they were not dancing. Instead they all held hands one with the other and began walking creating two interlocking circles that formed the number eight. While this was happening, I heard the song “Hold on tight to your Dream” by the Electric Light Orchestra. My interpretation: I believe the Lord was showing me that the line has been drawn. It’s time to get down to business instead of just entertainment. In the dream people had come together in unity and formed an alliance. The number eight means new beginnings and I believe this is what our nation will indeed begin to experience next January when a new administration takes the helm. However, it is my belief that the number eight also speaks of a two term presidency for Mitt Romney. You could also say these two circles represent the sign for infinity; life without end. The fact that “Hold on Tight to your Dream” was playing made me realize that we must hold on to the American dream. We must never give up; God is saying HOLD ON! The idea of the American Dream is rooted in The United States Declaration of Independence. It proclaims that "all men are created equal" and that they are "endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable Rights" including "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. It’s no mistake this song is performed by the Electric Light Orchestra; I believe this speaks of the power of God echoing through His people as they join together in unity and take a bold stand for righteousness. In conclusion: I would say there was a progression in these three dreams. First I was shown that Mitt Romney would emerge from among other experienced candidates to receive the republican presidential nomination and go on to win the election in November. Secondly there will be a changing of the guard as the current administration is rendered powerless. Thirdly Americans were coming together in a spirit of unity. They were not interested in prestige; they were focused on standing together for the betterment of this nation. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are the inheritance of all Americans. This year God will establish His justice. You will see a turning in order of events with the election this year. I believe God fearing men and women of moral integrity will lead this nation back to righteousness. This nation will begin to make strides in the right direction as these leaders emerge. I strongly believe Mitt Romney will be our next president. We must stand united and remain in prayer for him, his family, Paul Ryan and the new administration. We have been a people that has cried out to God (2Chron.7:14) and I believe He has heard our prayers and will now heal our land. We must remain faithful to pray and believe for this nation to make a turn around. It will not happen overnight but we have a greater hope in Jesus Christ and we will have a righteous man to govern us. The Lord gave me these dreams for a reason and I believe it is to share and give hope for a righteous change in government. We can make a difference this year as we go to the ballot box. A vote for Mitt Romney is a vote for righteousness!  It’s time to change from the Eli priesthood to a Samuel ministry. Eli lost his vision and his hearing grew dim; he no longer heard the voice of God and his sons became corrupt. Samuel, on the other hand, lead by the voice of God, ministered truth in love and grew in personal integrity and unceasing loyalty to God.

I will vote for the most pro-life candidate, because God hates the shedding of innocent blood (Prov. 6:16,17).

I will vote for the most pro-Israel candidate, because God blesses those who bless Israel & curses those who don't... (Gen. 12:3).

I will vote for the most pro-debt reduction candidate, because the borrower is servant to the lender (Prov. 22:7).

I will vote for the most pro-work candidate because God says if a man does not work, let him not eat (2 Thess. 3:10).

I will vote based as close as I can on God's Word (2 Tim. 3:16) knowing that whoever gets elected, God is the one who puts all men in authority (Dan. 2:21).

The Tipping Point -- Liberty in the Balance

     This election is SO important.  Please pray for people to wake up to what has been happening.  And please VOTE for Biblical values.  This essay is by Mark Alexander who is the author of an excellent email newsletter, The Patriot Post.

Alexander's Column – November 1, 2012 The Tipping Point -- Liberty in the Balance The 2012 Election Is Between Liberty and Tyranny "Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual -- or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country." --Samuel Adams (1781) As a student of history, I would assert that in no election since 1860 has our nation been more viscerally divided along clearer battle lines than in the current contest between Romney/Ryan and Obama/Biden. The contentious contrast in this campaign cycle is not so much about political policies as it is about the overarching themes oftyranny versus Liberty -- Rule of Lawversus rule of men. In just a few days, we will learn whether our nation has elected to move toward the restoration of Liberty, or if Barack Hussein Obama's propaganda machine has succeeded in fast-tracking our nation down the road to Democratic Socialism. In preparation for that revelation, I pause to take account of our bearing. Today, as has been the case since the dawn of American Liberty, Patriots resist the temptation to set their course on moving objects. We are not moved by contemporaneous trends, such as polling and focus groups. Instead, we set our compass on true north, on eternal truths "endowed by our Creator" as outlined in what Thomas Jefferson called the "the declaratory charter of our rights, and the rights of man." Those rights are codified in our Constitution, which many of us have sworn to "support and defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic." This eternal bearing is central to our Patriot mission, and it will not change with the outcome of any election -- though the task before us will be much, much more difficult if enough of our countrymen lack the wisdom to vote for Liberty over tyranny. In addition to the written records from our Founders of wisdom in support of Liberty and eternal truths, our team here at The Patriot Post is also blessed and humbled to count among the ranks of our readers hundreds of men and women from the Greatest Generation -- a generation that possesses wisdom that only comes with age. They have lived through presidential administrations from Wilson to Obama, and their wisdom has been forged in the fires of the Great Depression and World War II. They have witnessed the proliferation of socialist tyranny through Eastern Europe and Asia and the resulting slaughter of hundreds of millions of innocents. They have witnessed the grotesque tribal carnage in Africa and the Middle East. They are also the generation who, through hard work and innovation in the context of a free-enterprise economy, built the strongest manufacturing operations in history; an economy based on tangible products "Made in the USA" by skilled workers and managers. I receive letters almost every day from these elder Patriots, many of them expressing grief for the state of affairs they're leaving behind. Many of them bear a burden that they have somehow failed their posterity because the generations after them have not been instilled with a spirit of Liberty and civic duty sufficient to discern between candidates like Romney, who promote American Liberty, and those like Obama, who seek to undermine Liberty in their relentless pursuit of statist power. One of these letters arrived Tuesday, from one of my heroes -- my father. He was born in 1923 and remembers well the hardship of the Depression. He became a Naval Aviator in World War II, came home to start a family, and over three decades built a small manufacturing operation into a company with hundreds of employees. That company was dealt a deathblow during the last Great Recession under Jimmy Carter. On the eve of his 90th birthday, my father is very concerned about the future of Liberty, and his concern has the bold bona-fide stamp of the wisdom of age. His generation created great abundance, with the unintended consequence that following generations became progressively complacent, apathetic and dependent. This progression follows the fatal "Cycle of Democracy": From bondage to spiritual faith; From spiritual faith to great courage; From courage to Liberty (Rule of Law); From Liberty to abundance; From abundance to complacency; From complacency to apathy; From apathy to dependence; From dependence back into bondage (rule of men). Our nation is now suffering under another Great Recession. Like the last one, this recession is the direct result of statist interventionist policies. These policies led to the collapse of real estate values, which cascaded into the banking collapse, which nearly took down the entire economy. (For the record, I outlined this sequence of our current economic decline a month before Obama was elected in 2008.) John Adams wrote, "Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclination, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." But it's certainly easier to accept Obama's recurring premise: "It's George Bush's fault." Just prior to the 2008 election, Obama said his objective was "fundamentally transforming the United States of America," and he called on his adherents to join him in "remaking this nation, block by block." Four years later and that transformation is well underway. Since his election, Obama has undertaken measures in the name of "economic recovery" that will ultimately, by design, break the back of free enterprise. His "stimulus plan" is modeled on the Cloward-Piven strategy for economic transition, which he studied in depth as a student at Columbia University. This socialist stratagem calls for overloading the government welfare system to the point of crisis, requiring the replacement of that system with a national system of "guaranteed annual income and thus an end to poverty." This collapse is written into the genes of our nation's projected debt load, a burden that will crush free enterprise in the coming decade, without dramatic intervention. So, how's that strategy working thus far? There are 23 million unemployed or underemployed Americans. Tens of millions who are working have not received sufficient pay increases to even keep up with inflation. On Obama's watch, we have record spending on welfare -- households considered impoverished have grown to one in six, and 47 million are on food stamps -- up 50 percent since Obama's election. Obama has also amassed $5 trillion in new debt, and our national debt now totals $16 trillion, which for the first time in history now exceeds U.S. annual economic output. Finally, median household income has declined by $4,520 (8.2 percent) since Obama took office. This is the real "Obama tax." On top of that, energy prices have doubled because of Obama's restrictions on exploration, and economic growth has slowed to an anemic 1.3 percent. Obama's phony, glossy, hot-off-the-presses brochure, "The New Economic Patriotism," is a "plan" for jobs that will seal the fate of our economy if he is re-elected. He's calling on Americans to "embrace a new economic patriotism," while his lapdog Joe Biden has declared paying higher taxes to be our "patriotic duty." Of course, there is a wild card that could accelerate the Cloward–Piven transition. Obama has been derelict in his duty to contain the threat of al-Qa'ida and other Muslim terrorist groups calling for jihad, or "holy war," against "all the enemies of Allah." These Jihadis seek to disable the U.S. economy using any means at their disposal, and thus, undermine our political, military and cultural influence around the world. Their primary objective is the acquisition and detonation of one or more nuclear weapons in East Coast urban centers. Obama has undertaken a deliberate campaign to understate the threat of al-Qa'ida's strength, which is why his administration attempted to blame the recent attack against American diplomats in Libya on a web video. So, we find ourselves in quite a quandary on the eve of this election: We have a committed socialist president who has won the allegiance of an electorate so dumbed-down by apathy and dependence that it views the state as a benevolent master. Obama can depend on two principle constituencies who are irrevocably tied to the Left. About 30 percent of voters (60 percent of Obama's support) are primarily urbanites, whose allegiance has been co-opted by the state in return for redistributed wealth. Another 10 percent of voters (20 percent of Obama's support) are ideological socialists, from Leftist academicians to Hollywood glitterati, and all the Marxists in between. It is that illusive 20 percent of independent voters who will determine if Obama or Romney will win. In 2008, a majority of independents joined with Obama's base constituencies to give him 53 percent of the popular vote for victory. It's not that independent voters who supported Obama are ignorant; it's simply that, as Ronald Reagan once said of Democrats, "they know so much that isn't so." Indeed, they were enticed in the last election to support a candidate Joe Biden described as "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy." In this election year, there is a much clearer distinction between the candidate's ideologies and, fortunately, some of Obama's '08 supporters are coming to their senses, as typified in this Grassroots Commentary letter from "Karen,"expressing the buyer's remorse of an ill-informed vote. My primary concern is whether Mitt Romney has made enough progress in closing the deal with grassroots independent voters -- not because he doesn't genuinely care about Americans from all walks of life, but because his staff is top-heavy with folks who, themselves, have little or no grassroots grounding. Though we know our "Memo to Mitt From Grassroots Americans" was delivered to his communications director, it wasn't evident in the last two presidential debates that those talking points ever made it to his debate strategists. On Tuesday, we will, in the words of Thomas Jefferson, "make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude." Will enough independent voters be able to choose Romney's plan to restore economy and Liberty, or will a majority again be mesmerized by Obama's rhetoric? We will know the answer to that question in a few days. In the meantime, we must, as Patriots, do everything in our power to push right-minded Americans in every state, however discouraged they may be, to the polls. VOTE FOR LIBERTY!

       I believe the deception going on with the Libya cover-up is profound and should be exposed.  It seems the millions of prayers being offered for darkness to be exposed are being answered in spite of the liberal news media.  It is obvious their agenda is to re-elect our president, even when endless lies have to be told to cover for him. 

      The Military should always be supported when they are trying to protect our citizens.  This is an act of treason and a flagrant flaunting of our Constitution.

The United States of America should be the happiest place on Earth. We just need to change our income-tax structure. Let me explain…

After filing and paying my 2011 taxes, there was still a little money left in my checking account. So I decided to splurge a bit and take the wife and kids on a mini-vacation to Disneyland. As I stood in the ticket line outside "the happiest place on Earth," I noticed the wide variety of people standing in line with me.

There were tall people… short people… fat people… skinny people… people of every ethnic background imaginable. There were kids, teenagers, young adults, mid-lifers, and senior citizens. Every genetic and chromosomal background possible was represented, as was – I think – every income class.

Certainly, the gentleman in front of me with the tapered slacks, the Faςonnable pullover shirt, and the Cole Haan walking shoes earned a decent living. In front of him, though, was a man wearing oversized denim shorts, a "Battle of the Bands 2009" t-shirt, and a stained baseball cap. He probably wasn't doing as well financially.

But here's the thing… we all paid the same price for our admission tickets.

It doesn't matter how young or old you are. It doesn't matter where you come from or what nationality your ancestors were. And it doesn't matter how much or how little money you make. Everyone pays the same price to gain access to all the rides and attractions at Disneyland.

And Disney (DIS) is a hugely profitable corporation. Just look at the stock over the past 10 years…


It's up 175%.

Still, I had to wonder… If the best country on Earth operates with a progressive tax policy – where higher-income earners pay more for the privilege of living within its borders – why doesn't Disney charge higher-income earners more to enjoy its theme parks?

I called Disney's shareholder services department to get an answer. After being transferred about five times, I was finally able to convince the lady on the other end of the line this wasn't a joke… and I was a serious financial analyst. She agreed to answer my questions on the condition of anonymity. So let's just call her "Snow White."

Here's how the interview went…

Me: Why doesn't Disney charge different admission prices based on the income level of the people visiting its theme parks?

Snow White: Um… because that's a stupid idea.

Me: Are you saying the tax policy of the United States of America is stupid?

Snow White: Alright… if you're asking this as a serious question, maybe "stupid" is too strong a word.

At Disney, we charge everyone the same admission rate because once inside the park, everyone has equal access to all the rides and attractions. We do have discount tickets for young children since they may not be permitted on some of the rides because of safety concerns. And we do offer a small discount to organizations that purchase a large number of tickets all at once. For the most part, though, everyone pays the same price to enjoy our parks.

Me: OK. Everyone pays the same because everyone has the same opportunity. But let's say someone has an unfair advantage to the rides, would he have to pay more?

Snow White: There are no unfair advantages at Disney.

Me: Oh, sure there are. For example, my favorite ride is the Indiana Jones Adventure – which is located all the way over at the north side of the park. If I enter the park from the south side, I don't have the same opportunity to ride the ride as someone who enters from the north. He should have to pay more.

Snow White: Well… no… You can always just enjoy the rides that are closer to where you enter the park. Or you can walk over to the north side to ride Indiana Jones Adventure.

Me: But he's closer… And that's an advantage.

Snow White: Walk faster.

Me: Never mind… Can you tell me how you decide what to charge for admission?

Snow White: Yes. Admission prices are set to ensure a good value for the consumer, enable us to keep the park in excellent condition, allow us to pay our employees a competitive rate, and provide a reasonable return to our shareholders.

Me: But what if I can't afford your admission price? Can you just charge some rich guy in line in front of me for two tickets and then just give one to me?

Snow White: That's not really a serious question, is it? Of course, we couldn't do that.

Me: But what if I'm out of work? Or if I just spent my extra money on a new set of headphones? Or if there are just other things I need to pay for first, and I don't have the money for a ticket to Disneyland? What am I supposed to do then?

Snow White: Well… I guess like anything else you might want out of life, you're going to have to work hard and save for it.

Me: Thank you for your time, Snow White.

Snow White: You're welcome… I think.

As I hung up on Snow White, it occurred to me that I shouldn't be asking Disney why it doesn't have an admissions rate similar to the United States progressive tax policy. The company is doing great. Go back and take another look at the DIS chart.

Instead… we should be asking the U.S. government why it doesn't have a tax policy similar to Disney's admissions rate.

Think about it… Just take a look at the "stock" of the United States of America over the past 10 years…

 
The U.S. dollar has lost one-third of its value in the last 10 years. Our debt level is exploding. We can't balance our budget. And we're about to tumble over the fiscal cliff.

Maybe we should take a page out of the Disney playbook and see if we can adjust our tax policy to turn America into the "happiest place on Earth." Tomorrow, I'll run through the numbers and show you how I think we can achieve this. Stay tuned…

Global Warming Stopped 16 Years Ago

      Don't you get tired of being brainwashed about man-made global warming?  Why don't they go back a few?? years to the Ice Age or when the glaciers melted and brought such rich soil to the Midwest?  Since there weren't people on the earth then, what caused that?  Maybe God is a tad bigger than our little idea of how big we are.  How can men think they are so able to affect the universe?      
      Because of the myth that man is able to change the entire climate of the universe, perpetrated by those who have much to gain by it, new regulations and controls are being put into effect daily-things like closing down coal-fired electrical plants because of their carbon footprint which is causing sky-rocketing electricity costs while destroying jobs.  In our county a huge power line is slated to carry wind energy to the east that is generated by inefficient wind turbines located in the west because of government mandates. This is disrupting the lives of so many people who have lived on farms that have been in their family for generations.  They have to move because of the tremendous health hazard of living under gigantic power lines--all because of the myth of man-made global warming!  The eastern states can no longer get their energy from economical coal fired electrical plants because the government is shutting them down.  How ridiculous!  So we are all seeing our energy costs sky-rocketing!  It really is infuriating!
       Here is more evidence that it is all a hoax perpetrated on the world by those who are getting rich from the propaganda. (Al Gore, and friends etc.)  Of course it's the U.K. DailyMail which most Americans will never see that's trying to get the truth told.  Most of our media is way too liberal to care about the truth.  They're only interested in

The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new data released last week. 
The figures, which have triggered debate among climate scientists, reveal that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012, there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures.
This means that the ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years.

      The new data, compiled from more than 3,000 measuring points on land and sea, was issued  quietly on the internet, without any media fanfare, and, until today, it has not been reported. 
       This stands in sharp contrast  to the release of the previous  figures six months ago, which went only to the end of 2010 – a very warm year. 
Ending the data then means it is possible to show a slight warming trend since 1997, but 2011 and the first eight months of 2012 were much cooler, and thus this trend is erased. 

Lest We Forget

       My brother sent this email.  The email said the picture was taken Monday as Hurricane Sandy hit.  Research says it was taken in September.  But who cares when it was taken?  It exemplifies the honor and dedication shown by our soldiers for their fallen.  How admirable!!  I want to honor these soldiers and all those who have served in the Military, many giving their lives so that we can live in freedom.  How easily we forget the sacrifices made on our behalf.  There are not enough words to express our gratitude!!

Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young

      Are you familiar with the daily devotional, Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young?  My friend Mary sent it to me after telling me about it.  Many of the devotionals seem to be written specifically for me on the day I need to hear it.  Today was one of those days.  I get so disappointed in myself because most mornings when I sit down to do my Bible study or to pray, my mind wanders.  I begin to plan the day, or think about my blog post, or remember something I want to tell Country Guy before he leaves for work.  Sometimes it may take several minutes for me to realize what I'm doing and bring my thoughts back to the Lord Jesus.  Today was one of those days and then I opened up Jesus Calling to today's devotional.  Here is what I read:

       "Do not be discouraged by the difficulty of keeping your focus on Me.  I know that your heart's desire is to be aware of My Presence continually.  This is a lofty goal; you aim toward it but never fully achieve it in this life.  Don't let feelings of failure weigh you down.  Instead, try to see yourself as I see you.  First of all, I am delighted by your deep desire to walk closely with Me through your life.  I am pleased each time you initiate communication with Me.  In addition, I notice the progress you have made since you first resolved to live in My Presence.
      When you realize that your mind has wandered away from Me, don't be alarmed or surprised.  You live in a world that has been rigged to distract you.  Each time you plow your way through the massive distractions to communicate with Me, you achieve a victory.  Rejoice in these tiny triumphs, and they will increasingly light up your days. "
