"5777: The Year of the Ax Head Prophecy" Chad Taylor

This is a confirming word for me and I would imagine, for many of you, also.  God is stirring up forgotten dreams and desires.  Now is the time!

Recently during prayer, I had a riveting revelation regarding the "ax head" in 2 Kings 6. Following that initial insight into this often overlooked miracle, I have had a sequence of other prophetic revelations on this scripture reference. I have read it many times in the past, but have never heard any real commentary referencing this passage – until now by the Holy Spirit.
The actual events leading up to this miracle of the ax head – that literally defied gravity and every law of physics – are equally as important. I heard with sudden clarity from the Lord: 2017 or more accurately 5777 on the Jewish calendar is the year of the "Ax Head." A year of sudden and overwhelming restoration on levels and dimensions that "no eye has seen nor ear heard." It will surely defy everything you have imagined "exceedingly and abundantly more than you can imagine or ask..." (Photo via Christian Resources Today)
Global Expansion and Sudden Growth: The Isaiah 54 Effect
The driving force behind these circumstances in 2 Kings 6 was the need to expand. In verse 1 the company of the prophets exclaimed, "The place where we meet with you is too small for us." Elisha agrees and they proceed to the Jordan, cut wood and build a new place for the prophets to gather.
The prophet Isaiah had experienced the same prophetic precedent when he urged Israel in Isaiah 54:2 to, "Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home, and spare no expense!" God is unhinging even the most radical visions and expectations, and doors will surely open that no man can close.
Unprecedented Prophetic Commissioning is Coming
It's important to point out the prophetic commissioning that followed their request to expand the house of the prophets. Elisha answered and said, "GO..." You see, expansion of any kind must first come with a prophetic commissioning – a "go ye" that can propel the people into the place of explosive increase. It's no better illustrated than in 2 Kings 6:2. Elisha answered, "Go..."
In Ruth 2:22, at another epic crossroads of restoration, Naomi commissions Ruth into the field of Boaz to glean with the harvesters. A type and shadow of the redemption that looms ahead of this present generations of harvesters. "And Naomi said unto Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that thou go out with his maidens, that they meet thee not in any other field." Notice even the numbers in this Scripture echo a great commission to come when Jesus would send His early disciples 2 by to 2 into the uttermost parts of the world.
Leaders Leading Prophets Going: The Greatest Commission
Verse 3 is paramount as they asked the prophet Elisha to go with them: "Won't you please come with your servants?" The convenience of letting others do the work was not sufficient here and Elisha knew it as he exclaimed, "I will go!" The lack of expansion of the Kingdom of God and the knowledge of God in the world, does not entirely rest on those that are seemingly unwilling to go; but rather the Church leaders, prophets and pastors NOT WILLING TO GO WITH THEM.
Elisha's response was the key to success or failure in this unfolding scenario. In Joshua 3, God gave instructions to Israel again how to receive unprecedented breakthrough when it seemed everything thwarted them. It was only when the priests, the 12 leaders selected from the 12 tribes, got their feet wet in the water FIRST that their circumstances changed. God is calling leaders in every spiritual quadrant to lead the charge, to step into the often tumultuous waters of present circumstance and lead.
Joshua 3:13"And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the LORD-the Lord of all the earth-set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap." A sweeping wave of obedience is about to crash down on the shores of this world as many that have disqualified themselves or have been disqualified themselves will exclaim,  "Here am I, send me!" (Isaiah 6:8).
When they arrived at the Jordan in 2 Kings 6:4, the building of the prophet's gathering place commenced. What followed is one of the most unique miracles in the Bible. "As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron ax head fell into the water. 'Oh no, my lord!' he cried out. 'It was borrowed!'" (2 Kings 6:5).
The Iron Age was between 1200 – 500 BC, placing Elisha in 2 Kings 6 approximately 856 BC. This iron ax head was of great value and clearly was not easily accessible, thus the despair of the man in verse 5, "Oh no, my lord...it was borrowed!" Not only was it of great value, but it did not belong to the man – he had borrowed it!
The Ax Head of Prophecy and the Breaking of Debt: A Year of Jubilee
The ax heads are even now appearing from the depths from where they were lost. "I am even now dredging the depths and bringing back those things lost and even long forgotten," says the Lord. "Prophetic words weathered and worn, no longer visible, will suddenly roar off the pages of posterity – redefining the future even overnight. Isaiah 66:8 will be fulfilled in this generation: 'Who has ever seen anything as strange as this? Who ever heard of such a thing? Has a nation ever been born in a single day? Has a country ever come forth in a mere moment?'
"Your vision and dreams that have been indentured will be set free like a bird from a cage; the vision and dreams that were long ago buried will spring up like an army of dry bones and I will renew them like the eagle. The very gallows of current circumstances meant for your demise will prove to be for your good as I spring the trap of the fowler," says the Lord. (Photo via animal wallpapers)
"For even now I am declaring Jubilee this year of 5777 over you that will move you from only a mere 'calling' into a sending – a commissioning. I have ordained you as a voice to the nations. 'To uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.' Even as I commissioned the 70, I am decreeing a new commissioning over the land – a 70 x's 7 of healing and forgiveness and many will cry, 'Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!' as I heal the land where their feed tread (see Luke 10; Jeremiah 1:10).
"Failed attempts and false starts will no longer define you as the finish line of unfinished business looms ahead. I will surely complete the good work I have begun. A season of 70, and 70 x's 7 will prevail as forgiveness and commissioning eclipses the failure. You are the head not the tail.
"As Ruth was thrust into the field by her misfortune to bring unprecedented restoration, so will you. As salvation came to the house of Zacchaeus I will surely do this for you." Jesus said to him, "Today salvation has come to this house..."(Luke 19:9).
"For even now the ax heads are rising – that which has been lost, broken, abandoned and dilapidated. From the depths they are rising, in cities and states they are rising, and in governments and nations they are rising. In homes and families they are rising, and in heads of states and in government they are rising.
"These are long-forgotten destinies, callings and commissioning; and like Isaac the wells will be re-dug; the stubborn resistance will give way now – eclipsed by a 100-fold breakthrough. The stubborn stones of despair will be cast up and a highway for our God shall be prepared. Even now these things are coming to pass – look up! Look up! Your redemption draws nigh." (Photo via YouWall)
The prophet asked, "Where did it drop in?" When he showed him the spot, Elisha cut off a branch, threw it in at that spot, and made the ax head float..." 2 Kings 6:6 (To Subscribe to the Elijah List go here.)
