The Woodlands with an 80 foot Slide

Well, all the holidays are now past and 2020 is over.  Time to get on with everyday life.  One of the things that has kept me busy this past year and on which I still have lots of work to do, is the new park in town.  We have named it "The Woodlands"  and have installed signs so it can easily be found.  The goal for this park is "adventure for all ages" but particularly to be a place where adults can have fun, too!

An 80 foot embankment slide, which we believe could be the longest free-standing, stainless steel slide in the U.S., is now installed and open to the public.  (I've been down this slide multiple times and can testify it is VERY fun!!)

We also have added wood balance equipment and rock covered walking paths.  Much has been accomplished since April when we decided to take on the project--land cleared, an old barn removed, a parking lot and paths created, trees removed, etc., but there is much to do.  We are working on 200 foot dual zip lines to be installed before spring and additional walking paths will be added on the lower level this spring when the creek along the park border is cleaned out.

Future plans include adding outdoor exercise equipment, outdoor musical equipment, a pavilion and restrooms, but we will need to raise money to accomplish that.

If you are in the area, we invite you to stop in for an afternoon of fun!
