I came upon this website accidentally.  It was started by a pastor who noticed that many Christians do not treat the people who wait on them in restaurants as Christ would.  He felt the servers needed a place to vent where they wouldn't have to fear losing their jobs.

If you are a Christian I thought you might be interested in reading some of the stories so you will be reminded that there is always someone watching to see if what you say you believe affects how you act.  As the saying goes, "You may be the only Bible some people read."  I want to be a reflection of Jesus, not a deterrent to Him, don't you?

"I worked as a server for 15 years while raising my children as a single mother. I made good tips, enough to keep a roof over their heads and kept them from going hungry. Every Sunday my children and I were in church and after church we always went out to eat as our one day a week treat.  I was asked to work one Sunday for a friend that was sick and thought a Sunday of church people would make some really great tips. WOW in 15 years I have never dealt with such rude, condescending, holier-than-thou people. A group of 12 which ran me to death, complaining about everything from the lack of seasoning in the food to the fact their soft drinks didn’t have enough fizz. After spending 2 hours moaning and groaning about everything they leave. It took me 20 minutes to clean up their mess and they left no tip. As I was leaving that evening I found a note on my car that started out they had noticed I didn’t wear a wedding band but had a picture of kids on my badge. Obviously to them I was a Jezebel doomed to burn in hell along with my illegitimate bastard children. These were the exact words these “Christian” people used. Since they were nice enough to leave the note on the back of their church program I made sure I was at their church the following Sunday. Long story short by the time service was over there were a lot of red faces in that congregation. Too many people leave their Christianity at church and act as if they are better than others when they eat out after service. I am a Christian and I treat all people with respect but I refused to ever work another Sunday after that experience, I even quit church for awhile all because of 12 hypocrites that call themselves Christians."

"It has been a few years since I have worked as a waitress but I can tell you that when I did it was the church crowd I hated waiting on more than any other group.  They were rude, condescending and poor tippers.  When approaching the table and talking to them, a lot of the  time they wouldn’t look at you and were just unpleasant.  I was missing church because my job required I work on Sundays  and then I had to out up with their arrogance.  I always thought  to myself about them  listening to the sermon that day and how they must not have thought  the sermon was for them.  Anyone who waitresses  or has ever waitressed  will tell you this is their experience on Sunday.  I always thought it was  sad  that fellow Christians treated us that way."

    A friend sent this to me today.  Very interesting!  It seems our ancestors recognized that without God this country could not have come into being.  It is obvious where we've gone wrong, isn't it?  We have allowed special interest groups and the news media to brainwash us into no longer acknowledging God as our creator and sustainer.  Isn't it about time we return to Him?

We are drowning in a turgid river of postmodern relativism. Libertine libertarianism has infected the conservative movement like a cancer. This is a spiritual problem, not a political problem. This is a worldview matter, not a partisan matter.

The question is not, "Is America falling?" but, rather, "Why is America falling?"

I'm currently writing from CPAC 2014, the nation's largest gathering of conservative political junkies. The event is being held at the beautiful Gaylord National hotel, adjacent to the scenic shoreline of the historic Potomac River. We're just a few short miles from Washington, DC, which, at least for now, remains the modern-day equivalent of the Roman Empire. [Editor's note: CPAC 2014 concluded on Saturday, March 8.]

I say "at least for now" because America finds itself skipping along the primrose path to Rome's ill-fated finale. I needn't trouble you with evidence to that effect as this tragic reality is hopelessly inescapable. It's a self-evident truth. Unless our next generation of leaders – Gen-Y Millennials – can successfully turn things around, we're up the Potomac without a paddle.

The day's speeches have ended and conference-going night revelers are about. The indoor balcony to my 12th-floor room faces, as the hotel website accurately boasts, a "spectacular 18-story glass atrium." My balcony door is open wide, and the bustling din from several parties across the cavernous vestibule soaks the room.

A chorus has begun. What is this? Have party-goers launched an impromptu rendering of "America the Beautiful"?

No, this is a chant, joined by scores – a hundred or more perhaps – of young conservative bacchanalians on multiple suite balconies and from the open air bar below. What is that they're chanting? Is that, "Amer-i-ca! Amer-i-ca!"?

At first, it's hard to tell. It's a booming echo that reverberates throughout the entire hotel.

And then it becomes clear.

Alas, our next generation of conservative leaders are not chanting, "Amer-i-ca! Amer-i-ca!" They are, instead, chanting, "F*** O-bama! F*** O-bama!"

And I hang my head.

So, now, children at the hotel, parents, staff, tourists – both foreign and domestic – and every other conceivable variety of guest who happens to be staying at the Gaylord National hotel during CPAC 2014 has a skewed, and likely irreversible, first impression of America's conservative movement.

Or is it skewed?

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm certain that the vast majority of CPAC attendees, both young and old, are as appalled and embarrassed by these drunken yuck monkeys as am I.

But I think the very fact that these blazer-clad, Cro-Magnon morons could even imagine, for a moment, that it's somehow cool to publicly chant such profanity speaks to a much larger problem, not just within the conservative movement, but, more importantly, within our entire culture.

I'm never going to win a popularity contest. It's not my goal to be liked. I'll probably never be a "Fox News contributor" or even broadly recognized as a dutifully compliant cog within the greater, GOP-heavy "conservative" political wheel.

That's because I say things like this: There is no political fix to America's death spiral.

We are drowning in a turgid river of postmodern relativism. This is a spiritual problem, not a political problem. This is a worldview matter, not a partisan matter.

Hitherto it has been "progressives" alone dumping buckets of moral relativist poison into the Potomac. But, in the last decade or so, self-styled "conservatives" have likewise begun drinking the subjectivist Kool-Aid.

Libertine libertarianism has infected the conservative movement like a cancer. Situational ethics, driven by emotional, anecdotal sob stories, are used to justify every moral wrong as an absolute right. "Get off the social issues!" they demand. "Gay marriage? No problem."

These gun-toting, free-market "conservatives" (of which I'm both) grace us with beauties like this: "I'm a 'pro-choice,' 'pro-gay' conservative," or, "Yeah, I'm shacking up with my girlfriend, big deal."

Relativism blurs the fixed lines of demarcation between right and wrong, which leads to the abolition of absolute truth, which leads to pockets of moral anarchy, which leads to Barack Obama and Eric Holder deciding which laws to ignore and which laws to enforce, which leads to lawlessness, which leads to chaos.

Welcome to chaos.

Yes. The "social issues" matter.

The battle is not Republican vs. Democrat. Neither is it conservative vs. liberal. The battle precedes time itself. The battle is right vs. wrong. The battle is moral vs. immoral. The battle is truth vs. the lie.

The battle is between good and evil.

We've been playing political Ping-Pong for decades. We've been, as they say, rearranging the chairs on the Titanic while Democrats take the helm for a spell, and Republicans take the helm for a spell.

The reality is that both political parties have driven us into the iceberg, and then pranced off together, hand-in-hand, to play best-of-three racquetball at the congressional bathhouse.

While here at CPAC I met an interesting fellow by the name of Frank Mitchell. Frank founded the Memphis-based, classically conservative group: "A Shining City on a Hill." During our discussion, Frank said this: "There is no liberty without justice. Liberty without justice is only license."

Libertine libertarianism.

America cannot survive under a worldview that embraces unrestricted moral license. Such license destroys the individual. And such license destroys the nation.

"Liberty without justice is only license."

There is only one Arbiter of true justice. And justice is defined by Him, not by us. He sets the parameters. As both individuals, and as a nation, we are ill-advised to breach those parameters and well-served to maintain them.

America does not need a political fix. America needs a spiritual fix.

I do not like it!!

      Sarah Palin gave an excellent speech last night at CPAC.  She even called on Dr. Seuss for support when when she rewrote his classic Green Eggs and Ham.  Below is her version.  I totally agree--I do not like it!!

I do not like this Uncle Sam, I do not like his healthcare scam.
I do not like these dirty crooks or how they lie and cook the books.
I do not like when Congress steals. I do not like their crony deals.
I do not like this spying, man. I do not like, 'oh yes we can.'
I do not like this spending spree. We're smart, we know there's nothing free.
I do not like reporters' smug replies when I complain about their lies.
I do not like this kind of hope and we wont take it... nope, nope, nope.

 If you have ever been to Williamsburg, Virginia you have heard of the venerable name and influence of Patrick Henry.  Henry was a fiery statesman, who passionately gave us the immortal words, “Give me liberty or give me death!”  He felt that to live without certain intrinsic rights was a life not worth living. He and others of his day prayed, preached, protested and fought for the American liberties that we have enjoyed and most nations only dream about.

Today there is a tremendous shift on the subject of civil and religious liberties in the U.S. and abroad.  For instance, the recent decision in Arizona that made it illegal for a Christian photographer to refuse to shoot a gay couple’s wedding, and at the same time, a Muslim taxi cab driver can refuse to drive a newlywed couple to the airport because they have an unopened bottle of champagne given to them back at the reception.  Do you see the double standard?

A well-known pastor from Brooklyn, who was invited to speak in Canada, recently told me that Canadian law did not permit him to speak on the sin of homosexuality, but he could speak about homophobia.  Didn’t Jesus say, that in the last days, “Men will call good evil and evil good!?”  I have termed this twisted thinking “backwards thinking.”  It is frustrating to hear this warped mindset on a daily basis.

We hear of the IRS singling out and harassing conservative groups who are applying for a 501c-3 or 4.  The FCC has threatened to investigate conservative TV and radio stations who speak against government policies.  My friend, what country are we living in?  I heard this week that when you walk into a large shopping area, the data on your cell phone is confiscated and sold without your awareness.  For the first time in American history the government can monitor what you say, where you go and what your daily habits, interests and routines happen to be.

Through Obamacare, the U.S. citizen has little recourse if they choose not to sign up.  The cost, care and conditions are in the hands of the government.  Two thirds of the American people don’t want this government intrusion into their family’s health care, but that doesn’t matter.  The citizen who refuses to work is subsidized by those who do, and the illegal immigrant is fully covered by the taxpaying American citizen.

I read earlier that the first drag queen show on a military base was performed, but the military chaplains are no longer permitted to preach the Gospel as they once did.  Whatever happened to, “Congress shall make no law respecting an established religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances?”

In Connecticut guns will be confiscated by the police if not turned in to the authorities.  Whatever happened to,” A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

At the same time we have a president who has ignored the 14thAmendment to the Constitution that gives Congress the right and responsibility to legislate and manage our national spending/debt.  He declares, “I have a phone and I have a pen!”  He continues to ignore the limitation of his office and the balance of powers that are crucial to a republic.

When civil and religious rights are stripped from a society, the outcome will be internal unrest and revolt.  At the same time, our enemies from abroad will detect that our spiritual, moral and civil fiber has become weakened and will seize the moment when it is time to attack.  We will wield little resistance because we have lost our backbone.

Do you see the shift?  Do you see the hypocrisy?  Do you see the dangerous direction we are going?  What can we do?  Pray for the spirit and passion of Patrick Henry and other patriots who sacrificed greatly to gain these liberties in the beginning.  Pray, vote, assemble, protest, write, preach, teach as long as God gives you the strength to do so!

The Weather and Millky Way

       We are getting a little discouraged about the weather around here--as I'm sure many are throughout the country!  Yesterday it was a beautiful sunny 45 degrees which had our hearts turning towards spring.  Today it is 16 degrees with sleeting/snowing/freezing rain that's forecast to continue all day with possible accumulations of 4-6 inches.  UGH!
       Our cat, Milky Way, decided yesterday would be a good day to have her kittens.  With such a balmy day, I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time (did she have a choice?)  Fortunately, she had them in the little house Country Guy had made for her instead of out in the woods somewhere because I doubt they would have survived this awful weather.  I was planning to attach a picture but it is too cold to lift the roof off the box to snap the picture. If cats can experience gratitude she surely is grateful today to have a warm, dry home for her babies!
       I have to admit I have been struggling with the scripture "in everything give thanks" this year.  What a good year to practice!!

The Gathering Together of the Saints - Another Good Word from Francis Frangipane

The Gathering Together of the Saints True Christians from all backgrounds share an expectation commonly known as the Rapture of the church (see 1 Thess. 4:16-17). Although debate surrounds the timing of this event, Scripture assures us that at the last trumpet we will be caught up to "meet the Lord in the air" (v.17). So, while critics will say that Francis does not believe in the Rapture, the truth is that I do. However, it is plain that, according to many Scriptures, there will also be a time of unusual grace prior to the Rapture in which the living church of Jesus Christ, like a bride, makes "herself ready" (Rev. 19:7). During this unparalleled season of preparation, those who are alive in Christ shall realize a level of holiness and purity that will be the overflow of the presence of Jesus Himself manifested through the church (1 Thess. 3:11-13; Eph. 5:26-27; Phil. 1:9-10). The result of this new spiritual fullness will be a new level of unity. Faultfinding and gossip will disappear. In their place will be intercession and love. Wholeness will return to the citywide evangelical church. This also means that the ambition and division we see today between congregations will be identified as sin, which will be repented of before Jesus returns. The truth of this message must be made clear, for most Christians consider oneness within the body inconceivable before Jesus returns. They have not discerned nor warred against the enemy's lies, which have conditioned believers to accept strife and sectarianism in the church. It is my passionate conviction that the church that will ultimately be raptured will be free of strife and carnal divisions -- it will be a bride "having no spot or wrinkle" that has "made herself ready" for her bridegroom (Eph. 5:27; Rev. 19:7). According to Scripture, during the Rapture, "in the twinkling of an eye" our bodies will be changed (1 Cor. 15:52). But our character, that is, the essence of who we have become, will remain intact. There will be no regrets or wondering how "those from that church" made it, for the living bride will be a church built together in love, meeting in separate buildings but serving the one and only Lord. These true disciples of the Lord Jesus will be known for their intense and holy love for one another -- not merely in their individual local assemblies but within the context of a citywide church. It is highly significant that the scriptural term for the Rapture is called the "gathering together" (2 Thess. 2:1; Matt. 24:31). What ultimately will be consummated in our gathering together physically to the Lord will be precipitated by a spiritual gathering together of His body on earth. Concerning the era known as the "end of the age," Jesus taught that the "good fish" shall be "gathered . . . into containers" (Matt. 13:48). And in the context of spiritual warfare, Jesus warned, "He who does not gather with Me scatters" (Matt. 12:30). This scattering, dividing process among the Lord's sheep has gone on long enough. Jesus has set His heart to bring healing and unity to His body. In this regard, through the prophet Jeremiah, the Lord spoke a somber warning. He said, "Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of My pasture!" (Jer. 23:1). The Son of God is not pleased with the carnal divisions in His body! Indeed, the Lord promises to chasten those pastors who continue to build their kingdoms without laboring together to build His. To them He says, "I am about to attend to you for the evil of your deeds" (v. 2). In the tenth chapter of John, the Lord makes His goal clear: there shall be "one flock with one shepherd" (v. 16). He reveals it is the wolf nature that "snatches [the sheep] and scatters them," and it is the hireling nature that allows the scattering to occur (v.12) . But His promise to His sheep says this: "Then I Myself will gather the remnant of My flock . . . and they will be fruitful and multiply. I will also raise up shepherds over them and they will tend them; and they will not be afraid any longer . . . nor will any be missing" (Jer. 23:3-4). The pastors of the last Christian church will be under-shepherds to the Lord Jesus; they will be anointed to gather together His remnant and under that anointing shall be "fruitful and multiply." Indeed, right now, in the context of humbling ourselves and submitting our hearts to His will, we are participating in being "gathered together." This process will progressively increase until the barriers between brethren are melted by the overcoming nature of Christ's love. Before Jesus returns, we will truly be "one flock with one shepherd."         I am sitting at the hospital waiting for the paperwork to be completed to release Mom.  She is going to a care center for rehab for a couple of weeks to regain her strength.  She has recovered remarkably well.  The doctors have decided she doesn't need dialysis at this time and her oxygen levels have remained high so she doesn't even need supplemental oxygen.
       We are grateful for all your prayers. Thank you!  If you think of it, would you please pray for strength to return to her legs and that the pain in her feet will leave so that she can get back to walking unassisted and can then return home. That is her main goal!  She is very eager to get home.

     I saw this on another blog. I was amazed at how many verses from the Old Testament are alluded to.  in Revelations!
       This is a very helpful tool in understanding the book of Revelation.  I especially love the fact that each verse is linked, so that the scriptures can be read immediately and the two compared.  This certainly saves a lot of time!  (Because the list is so long, I have hidden most of it.  Click on the "Read more" at then end of the post to reveal it all.)

       You cannot understand the Book of Revelation - or the other New Testament books for that matter clearly without an understanding of the Old Testament.  In the Revelation there are so many either direct, or alluded to, references from the Old Testament. By going back and seeing what OT Scriptures were referenced, you have a better picture of how to interpret the verses from Revelation, which is not about the "destruction of the planet" but about the "apokalupsis" - "unveiling" or "revealing" of Jesus Christ.

Star Parker on the state of our country

What a sad state our country is in!

Columnist Star Parker: "In a recent Gallup poll, 71 percent between 18 and 34 years old said having a child out of wedlock is morally acceptable, 49 percent said pornography is morally acceptable, and 48 percent said teenage sex is morally acceptable. Can anyone really believe that a society with these kinds of values can and will have limited government? We cannot underestimate the influence Bill Clinton, America's first 60's generation president, played in creating this kind of popular culture. Once it was okay that the President of the United States could betray his nation and his wife and fornicate with a young intern in the Oval Office, the door was open to almost anything. We also cannot underestimate the impact on our popular culture and values that the wife of this man -- a woman who now aspires to be our next president -- was willing to tolerate this behavior and rationalize it away. This is not the behavior of a strong, courageous woman but that of a weak, unprincipled woman."
