The Gospel is to be Preached with Demonstrations of Power

In today's Bible reading I was struck by the words in 1 Corinthians 2:4 (NIV),

"My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power,"

How many Christians/churches/pastors can you say this about?  It seems to me that in our day the Gospel is very rarely preached with power, but instead persuasive words are used to try to convince people that God is real.  Why not get back to what the Bible says?  The message of the Good News of Jesus Christ is to be preached with a demonstration of the Spirit's power.  If we don't have that power, we need to get into our prayer closets and seek it with our whole hearts.  People's lives depend upon it!  I'm sure there will be many more believers, and a change in the world as we know it, when this begins to happen.

When God's power is demonstrated, I believe a holy fear of Him will come upon us that will cause us, and people like those in the following post, to rethink our ways and to cry out in repentance for our selfishness.
