A Wonderful NIght

What a wonderful concert we had tonight with Mackville, a bluegrass/gospel band from Atwood, Illinois!  They were excellent!  The weather was perfect and since Country Guy sprayed the viewing area at the Amphitheater for bugs there were no mosquitoes.  There were at least 110 people--not counting volunteers and performers which is a pretty good crowd for our first season.  It was a great way to end our summer concerts in the Park.  We are grateful to Kitchen Seeds of Arthur, Illinois for sponsoring the event.  We will definitely want to have Mackville back again next year.
Next week is the Redneck Pool Party.  We will be building a swimming pool for the event from straw bales and a tarp and will have a smaller plastic pool for the little ones.  There will be water games and water balloons and sprinklers to run through.  It should be lots of fun!  This will be our last 'gathering' in the Park for the summer.
A Back to School Teen Dance is scheduled for August 21, and a Talent Concert is in the planning stage for September 27.
