Daffodils

I volunteered to bring daffodils to decorate the tables tomorrow at the Soup Fundraiser lunch.  When I went out to cut them this morning in the field where they have naturalized I discovered most of them had not opened because it has been so cold.  It seemed that I might as well cut them and see if warm water and a warm room would cause them to bloom.  Here is a picture taken at 9:30 after they were placed in vases of warm water.  About 11:00 I added more warm water to the vases since the water had cooled.

The second picture was taken at 12:30.  The warm water seems to be working.  I wonder if all will open by tomorrow at lunchtime.  I'll let you know.

Here they are at 9:30 this evening.  Looking good!  It's amazing what 12 hours of warmth can do!

What if you place them in a sunny spot, in your home?
